× Zahraa ×

Walking to Liam's house has got to be one of the most nerve wracking things I've ever done.

I mean thinking about it, I knew it could either go one of two ways.

Liam could potentially slam the door in my face without even hearing me out, sending me back to stage one of "Mission: Get My Sunshine Back" or he could let me ramble myself into a seizure or something and only then promptly decide that he doesn't believe my story and only then send me on my way.

But hey, positivity and all that.

Right?

Liam is a nice guy, right? He'd probably just shoo me away in a polite manner.

Yeah that seems more likely.

Still doesn't help the situation though.

I had knocked twice on Liam's door - preparing to knock for the third time - when the door finally opened, a sleepy looking disoriented Liam standing on the other side.
He blinked a couple of times, his eyebrows furrowing as if not completely believing what his eyes were showing him.

When he finally realized that he wasn't hallucinating or in some weird dream, however, his expression was nothing short of surprised. And not the good kind.

Had I mentioned that it was 7am?

No? Huh, must've slipped my mind.

"What? Zahraa?"

"Liam, " I nodded my head in greeting like I've seen those cool dudes in movies do.

"What are you doing here?" Liam's eyes widened before narrowing, his eyebrows furrowing even more like a furry caterpillar on his forehead.

"Haha, well funny story, that" I smiled awkwardly, waving a hand at him.

"What the heck?" Liam exclaimed, evidently growing more confused by the second.

"Can I come in? It's kinda chilly out here"

"What? I still don't understand what you're doing at my door step at -wait what even is the time?"

"Seven-oh-nine and twenty-three seconds, twenty-four, twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty- " I said, checking my phone.

"Zahraa!" Liam yelled, raising his voice at me for the second time ever since I'd begun hanging around him.

"Ha, oops. Sorry" I offered sheepishly.

"I still don't understand why you're at my house this early or how you even know where I live for that matter."

"I'll gladly answer any and all questions you may have once we're warm. And seated. So can I come in? I'm starting to not feel my toes anymore "

"Flipping hell, just, come in" he shook his head, moving aside to allow me room to enter.

"Thank you" I said gratefully, entering the admittedly toasty house.
