I cursed under my breath as I tiptoed around the junky room of the man whose face I did not remember. I had no recollection of the previous night, but I did know I had to get out of here. I had to be at work in an hour, and I wanted to be gone before this guy woke up.

Loud snores emitted from his mouth, and I cringed wondering how the hell I was able to fall asleep at all.

I must've been hammered I thought, as I finally found my other shoe. I glanced over the room, making sure I had everything before making a quick dash towards the door. I tiptoed in the hallway, walking as quickly however as quietly as I could . I jumped when a deep voice spoke alerting me that I was not alone and probably wouldn't be able to escape without a trace like I wanted too .

"Morning." I glanced over to the man standing in the kitchen with a cup of coffee . He wore only a pair of sweats as he stared at me with an amused grin.

"You know usually its us guys that try to make a quick escape in the morning." He joked. I gave a half smile in response, standing awkwardly as he watched me curiously . I just wanted to leave and I didn't know that he had a roommate, and this is so awkward and I don't know what to say. I thought to myself, when the mystery guy finally spoke again.

"So , um, did you want any coffee ?" I shook my head, folding my arms across my braless chest.

"Uh, no , no thanks I'm good. I've really gotta go, I have work and , stuff," I trailed off. It sounded like a complete lie, but it was actually the truth. It was silent again for too long and I wished that I had enough balls to just make a getaway to the door and never look back.

"So I,"

"Do you,"

We both spoke at the same time, laughing a little .

"You first,"

"Ok, I was just gonna ask if you needed to leave and you were still standing here?" I glanced up at the still unnamed stranger and nodded.

"Thank you, um yea, so ok. Nice meeting you, or whatever." I mumbled, nervously, placing my hand on the doorknob and skipping through it before he could respond.

I sighed, once I was in the hall of the apartment building. Rolling my eyes at myself for being so weird. I pushed myself off the wall and into the elevator. I hailed a cab once I got to the street, quickly blurting out my address , watching as the early birds of the city made their way to work and other business  for the day.

I thanked the driver, handing him more than enough money , and speeding upstairs to my apartment. I ran around the small space of my room once inside, slipping on my black pants and shirt for work. I brushed my hair into a messy bun, grabbing my apron and name tag on the way back out of the door.

I walked the short  few blocks to the coffee house where I worked, making it in time with a few minutes to spare. Immediately I was greeted with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and fresh out of the oven scones, cakes and cookies. I inhaled deeply, the wonderful mixture of aromas always soothing me as I made my way behind the counter.

"Morning Mill," I turned at the sound of one of my many nicknames.

"Hey, Rob, what's up?"  I smiled, at the young blonde, who was also my manager. I'd always thought he was the most adorable man I'd ever seen. All blue eyes and big smile. He was always happy, and polite, and he never yelled.

"Pretty slow morning for a Sunday. I guess no one wants to come out in this weather. It's getting pretty bad out there." He shrugged, as I fixed up a black coffee for a customer .

I nodded my agreement, getting to work and making small conversation with my co workers  and customers as the day went by.

The day went by slowly, customers coming in for a hot drink and dashing back outside into the horrid winter air. It was 1 hour to closing, I was alone in the shop, flipping through a magazine on the counter. I always liked closing the shop, by myself. It was nice to have some quiet time to myself. Rob would always ask if I needed him to stay or if I wanted him to put someone else on the closing shift with me. But I always declined the offer. In some way I think he really appreciated that, and admired me for wanting to work alone.

I sighed as I put the magazine aside, instead grabbing a rag and going to clean the dining room to kill some time.  It would be one less thing to do when I had to close. On top of shutting down all the machines , and counting and locking the register away in the safe.

I hummed along to the soft music that played throughout the building. Wiping up small spills , and picking up trash. I looked up at the door when the bell rang signaling someone had entered. I smiled at the man that walked in, looking as if he'd come from a gym or something.

He returned the kind smile, as I walked back around the counter, waiting for his order. He was tall and handsome, staring up at the menu trying to decide what he  wanted. I waited patiently, observing him.

He had dark skin, his hazel eyes wide and mysterious. His black hair was a little messy, but in a stylish way. I made my way downward noticing his tattoo covered hand and admiring the work there.

The sleeveless shirt he wore, revealed his tattoo clad arm, and I wondered where he got his work done.
"Um, Milly?" I zoned back in realizing he must've been calling me for a while now by the way he gave me a look, smirking. My eyes widened, cheeks burning in embarrassment as I looked up.

"How did you-" I began to ask before he answered.

"Your name tag my love." He smiled, kindly.

"Oh, what can I get for you then?" I asked, trying to play it cool.

I watched curiously as I made the fruit water. He sat at one of the small round tables looking through his phone and I wondered how he could be so extremely attractive.

I walked out to him handing over the water and watching through the glass doors as he slipped into a blacked out SUV and thanked me, leaving a small tip. I smiled , as the car drove off, finally going to lock the doors and close the place down for the night.
