Maya's POV
28th August
Friday
"Maya," Riley said firmly, glaring into my face.
I stare down shamefully at my bony hands.
What have I done?
I have sinned.
I've done so much bad.
So many horrible things.
I must redeem myself.
"There is no food in the fridge," Riley shook me gently, as her hagridden eyes stared into my haggard face. She gripped my hips and I hid my eyes, not wanting to see her eyes.
"What are you doing to yourself Maya?" she whispers.
"What have I done to you?" I breath.
Riley drags me to my bedroom, and we both look in the mirror. My clothes hang limply off of my body, and Riley's are no better. My face is thin and pale as a ghost, with cracked lips protruding underneath big blue oceans. Riley's soft brown eyes are scarred, and she wraps her arms tighter around me, as we look at ourselves in the mirror.
An angel and a devil.
A victim and a victim.
Luke and Hope sneak into the room, and their tiny arms wrap themselves around my waist.
I'm sorry, I think, before running out of the apartment, and onto the lonely streets of Los Angeles.
