Travis POV

I look back at Emma, to make sure she was behind me.
"TRAVIS!" she screams.
Before I can do anything, my face met a brick wall. I fell on my back.
"Are you ok?" Emma says, laughing.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I say, getting up.
"What is this?" Emma says, looking at the structure.
I look at it.
"I think it's a temple!" I say.
"COOL, LET'S CHECK IT OUT!" Emma says, running into the temple.
I walk in nervously. It was rundown and really cool! I look for Emma.
"I think there's another room behind this wall!" she says, as I walk up.
She puts her ear on the wall. I start to feel for a button or lever.
"Hey! I think I found something!" Emma says.
I look at her, as she pulls a torch and a door opens.
"Cool!" I say, as I walk inside.
"I think it's a tomb!" Emma says.
I look at the long box. I think to a coffin.
"Hey I found a book!" Emma says and opens the book.
I look back at the tomb, something was making noise.
"AHHHHHHHH MUMMY!" I scream as a mummy comes out.
I look at Emma. She was still looking in the book, dazed.
"Emma!" I say, trying to get her attention.
I look at the mummy; it was having trouble getting out. I look around frantically.
She is too deep in her daze what do I do? I bite my lip...maybe I can carry her. The mummy was almost out. It's the only option. I turn around and pick up Emma, bridal style, and run out of the temple and into the forest. Once we were far enough, I put her on the ground. I stand there out of breath.
"Emma!" I say, trying to snap her out of it.
Emma blinks and shakes her head.
"What happened... Why are we here?" she said, looking around.
"You dazed out after you looked at the book and there was a mummy. I had to carry you out," I say, panting.
She blushed.
"You carried me!"
"I'm sorry, it was the only option" I say, blushing
"I-it's ok, just kind of weird," she says, looking at the ground.
The way back home was completely silent. Also a little awkward.
I look at the sky, it was almost dark.
"I'm not sure if we can get back in time!" Emma says.
"Maybe we should make a camp?" I say. She nods
"I'll get firewood!" I say, running into the woods
Emma stayed in the small clearing and started doing something to the ground.
After I got a few sticks, I ran back. There were 2 squares of turned up earth by a circle of rocks
"I made it so the dirt is softer to lay on and the rocks are for the fire," Emma explained.
I threw the sticks into the fire and started to light it.
"It's not lighting!" I say.
"Weird, maybe if we move the sticks..?" Emma says, walking up.
She puts her hand a stick to move it and it burst into flames. We both jump back.
"W-what?!?" Emma stutters, looking at her hands.
"Do you have magicks?" I ask, shocked.
She looks at me, terrified.
"I-I don't think so!" she stutters.
"Well at least the fire is lit," I say.
I smile at her.
"Don't think about it. I'm sure it was a late reaction!"I say.
I know it wasn't, but I want to calm her down.
"Y-yeah," she mumbles.
She sits down on one of the patches of dirt and gets the book out of her bag.
"So what does it say?" I say, sitting next to her.
At first, she looked uncomfortable, then she smiled at me. I look at the book.
"That's disapointing," I sigh. It was a bunch of symbols and squiggles.
"Why?" she asks.
"It's in a weird alien language," I say. She looks confused.
"Uh... no, it isn't," she says.
"Wait... Can you read that?" I ask.
"Yeah... you can't?" She asks.
"I guess not..." I say, looking at the book.
"Weird, it is a diary of some sort," she says, yawning
"We should probably go to sleep," I say, getting up.
I walk over to the other patch of dirt and lay down. I yawn and in no time, I was asleep.
