CHAPTER SEVENTY SEVEN Ghost Hunt

"Wendy sigurado ka ba na dapat ganito isuot natin?" I ask Wendy. We are inside my room. Kahapon kasi she said na kailangan ko ng bumawi sa kanya so I need to accompany her into this event.

"Perfect na yan." Wendy said as she studied my attire.

I look at myself in the mirror. Jeans, shirt and rubber shoes. Wendy even asked me to bring a flashlight.

"Bakit ba kailangan ko pang magdala ng flashlight? Mag aakyat bahay ba tayo?"

Wendy just laughs at me.

"Di ba talaga ako pwedeng sumama Ate Wendy?" Tony asks when she appeared on my door.

"Masyado ka pang bata Tony." Wendy said. Tony stomps her foot.

"Magiging epic fail lang yan si Ate doon I am sure." Tony said with a snort.

"Teka teka nga. Saan ba talaga tayo pupunta ha Wendy?" I ask as I turn around to look at Wendy again.

"Sikretong malufet." Wendy replied with a peace sign

I shuddered as the chilling air blew. I lool at Wendy with narrowed eyes as we stood in front of this old cemetery's steel gate kasama yung ibang participants.

"Oh c'mon Nayeli. This will be fun. Stop giving me those piercing stares." Wendy said as she excitedly looks around.

I sighed. I never thought that my bestfriend will be even more weird than me. I can't believe she signed us into this bizarre dating game.

Ghost Hunt Date? Whoever thinks of such a crapy concept?

Kaya ba sinabi ni Tony na magiging epic fail ako? Pero did she mean epic fail because I have a third eye or epic fail dahil walang lalaking magkaka-interes sa akin?

(-____-) Maybe both. Since I am inside this old cemetery. I will just act weird and everybody will just laugh behind my back.

Damn! I even forgot my shades!!!! This epic fail is a subtle definition for what will happen to me in this game.

This is a disaster!!!!

Should I tell Wendy that I could see ghosts?

Ate kelan pa lumandi itong si Wendy?

I think I have missed a lot of things about her noong mga panahong busy pa ako kay Tyler.

"Hi! Kasali ka din pala dito?" I heard someone said from behind us.

It looks like a guy from another university. He looks really cute with those two dimples on his cheeks. Wendy stiffened.

"O-oo" Wendy stutters.

"Wow! This will be fun! See you around Wendy." The guy said then he went back to his group of friends.

I glance at Wendy and saw a faint blush on her cheeks as she stared at the guy.

(-____-) Kaya naman pala nandito kami. She likes this guy.

"Dalaga na ang BFF ko. So sya ba ang target mo dito?" I teased her.

"H-hindi ah!!!!" Wendy exclaimed na mukhang nahihiya.

"Whatever Wendy." I said with sheepish eye.

Suddenly a group of girls went in front of us. Yung iba mukhang galing sa university namin yung iba from other schools.

"Welcome to Ghost Hunt Date." One of the girls with pink hair highlights said.

"The rules are simple. We have equal number of boys and girls in this group. Each of you will be assigned to different stations inside the cemetery." Sabi naman nung isang girl.

"The stations are numbered. We will determine where stations you will be assigned by fish bowl. Inside this bowl are stations and directions on how to get there. When the clock strikes midnight you will each search for a partner. And since this is a dating game girls should look for a guy partner vice versa." The first girl said.

"Once you find a partner you will have to spend the whole night together inside the cemetery. The game ends when the sun comes out. Is everything clear?" Tanong nung isang babae.

Everyone said yes.

I am feeling a little anxious. I am just hoping that the ghosts in this cemetery are the ones who doesn't care even if nabulabog sila but if this cemetery turns out to have ghosts or spirits that hate human interference then we will not just get a date tonight we will all have a fright of our life.

"Pare nababaliw ka na ba?!" Je exclaimed as we listen to the rules. "Alam mo namang di ko kaya yung mga larong ganito!!! Hindi pa naman ako desperado na magka girlfriend para sumali dito!"

"Wag ka ngang duwag. There are no such thing as ghosts. Tsss." I said.

I only have one mission tonight and that is to keep an eye on Nayeli. Why did she join this game anyway? Ganito na ba sya ka-desperate to find a date? I have to keep an eye on her and prevent any guy from making any moves on her.

How did I find out na sasali sya dito?

Tony told me. I saw her walking home yesterday and she said that Nayeli will join this absurd dating game.

I lowered my hoodie even more. Di ako pwedeng makilala ng kahit na sino. I glance at Nayeli right in front. It's her time to pick her station inside the bowl.

I need to find her station quickly.

"Dude. Kailangan ba talaga nating maghiwalay? Ang lamig ngayong gabi." Je disrupted my thoughts. He is clinging to me like a monkey and girls are starting to giggle at us.

"Ala namang yakapin kita? Umayos ka nga Je nakakahiya." I whispered to him feeling a little embarrassed when more eyes started staring at us.

After mo bumunot ng papel sa loob ng bowl. Each person is given a ten minute head start papunta ng station nya.

This cemetery is huge and very old. It will be hard to find each other.

Naunang bumunot sa akin si Je and I have to pushed him just so he could go passed through the cemetery gate. It was locked by a rusty chain pero one person can still slip in between the gates to get inside.

I was stationed under a huge Balete tree at the back of the cemetery. It was really scary but I don't believe in the supernatural kaya I can handle this well but Jerome on the other hand....I sighed. I hope he is stationed in a less scary environment. He might pee on himself sa sobrang takot if he ends up being in a scary place.

I wrap my wind breaker even more as another gush of cold wind passes by. It's extra chilly tonight for some reason. I look above and see no stars or moon tonight. Natatakpan kasi sila na makapal na ulap adding more scare in this dating experience.

I wonder where Nayeli is?

I look at my watch and saw that it's already midnight. Finally this dating game has started.

I stand up and stretched my arms. I have to find Nayeli now.

I was about to walk when I suddenly heard something.

I turned around but found no one behind me.

Maybe I am just imagining things.

Nakakailang hakbang pa lang ako when I heard something again.

"Je? Alam mong those kind of scare tactics won't work for me." I said.

I was about to continue walking when the whisper became even clearer than before.

Are there really ghosts here?
