CHAPTER FIFTY: Old Letter

"Ano bang nangyayari?" Naguguluhang tanong ni Sid sa amin ni Tyler when I went to my house to see him.

"Sid I think I know how to help you?" I said.

"Help me?"

"About Rose." I said.

"Rose? Sino naman yun?" Tanong ni Sid. Nagkatinginan kami ni Tyler.

"Hindi mo ba sya naaalala Sid?" Tanong ko.

"Hindi. Is she someone important? Sorry but I have no memory of who I am and my past anymore."

Ganun na lang ba talaga kadaling makalimot? Tulad nung nangyari kay Tita Olga at ngayon naman etong sa kaso ni Sid?

I glance at Tyler. Someday he too will forget me as if I never existed in his world.

"Sid she's the woman on the wheelchair at the park? Hindi mo ba talaga sya maaala?"

"So that's her name? Rose? Nakakatuwa naman. When I first saw that old woman's face I got struck. Looking at her makes me feel lighter kaya lagi ko syang inaabangan sa park. But ano naman ang kinalaman nya sa akin?"

I sighed. Mahihirapan syang mag cross over if he can't even remember who he was before and what his unfinished business is.

If there is only a way to bring back his memories.

My eyes widened with realization! There is a way! It might not bring back his memories but at least I can have a peek in it.

"Sid you have to get inside my body." I said.

"WHAT?!!!" Sid and Tyler simultaneously shouted at me.

"It's the only way we could know what happened before." I explained.

Tyler and Sid look at each other. "But I am afraid to find out about my past." Sid said while he looks back at me.

"Sid you have been a lost soul for sixty nine years already at alam kong gusto mo na ring magpahinga. Kung ano man yung nakaraan mo you have to face it in order for you to move forward."

There was silence after that then Sid finally smiled. "Fine but only if payag si Tyler." He said.

"Pshh..why do you still need to get an approval from him? He doesn't own me." I said.

To my surprise Sid just laughs out loud.

"She's right." Tyler said.

I look sheepishly at Tyler. Umiwas lang sya ng tingin.

I sat on my bed and close my eyes. "I'm ready." I said then I open up myself and allowed Sid's soul to get inside.

I feel like I am flying on a cloud of memories. Then I saw Rose.

"Hahayaan mo na lang ako makasal sa iba?" Rose shouted with tears in her eyes.

"Ano namang laban ko sa lalaking yun Rose. Hindi ko kayang ibigay yung buhay na pwede nyang ibigay sayo at sa pamilya mo." Sid said.

"I am not asking you to give me those things Sid! Ganun ba ang tingin mo sa akin?" Rose said but Sid remained quiet.

"Kung hindi mo lang din pala ako kayang ipaglaban mas mabuti pang tapusin natin ito. I'd rather love a man who can fight for me rather than a coward man like you." Sinabi ni Rose then she turned her back and walk away.
