CHAPTER FIFTY ONE: Blind

"Thank you po." I said to Tita Brenda when she gave me a towel. I can't help but to feel down. Hindi ko na naabutan si Lola Rose. Sabi ni Tita Brenda she died peacefully last night in her sleep.

Napadiin yung kapit ko sa lalagyan nung sulat ni Sid as I look at Lola Rose's picture and her urn. Sid is standing there sadly looking at the urn too.

I felt na naupo sa tabi ko si Tyler. "Okay ka lang?" He asks me. I shook my head. I am not okay! I look at Tyler's worried face.

"I am too late." I said then I wipe away my tears then I look at Sid again. "Hindi ko na naibigay yung letter nya kay Lola Rose."

"But I believe that if Sid finds a way to cross over magkikita na ulit sila." Tyler said.

"But what if he can't? What if he becomes onw of those lost souls na habang buhay ng nandito? I failed again. I failed saving a friend again." I said.

Hinawakan ni Tyler yung kamay ko. I don't know how he can always make me feel fine even with just a simple gesture.

I gave at Brenda the letter. She cried while reading it. She told me Lola Rose never had a family of her own. She can't love another man than Sid.

Palubog na ang araw ng we went back home. No one is talking. Tahimik lang kaming naglalakad sa may park. We were walking along the creak when I saw someone standing near the water ahead of us.

"Is that another ghost?" Tanong ni Tyler.

"I think so." I said then nagulat na lang kami ni Tyler ng biglang tumakbo papalapit doon sa babae si Sid. Pagharap nung babae nagulat ako because it was Lola Rose...the younger version of Lola Rose.

"Rose." Sid said.

Hinawakan ni Rose yung pisngi ni Sid. "I've finally found you." She said in tears then they hug each other.

I smile as I look at them. Two lost souls finally finding each other. What a breathtaking sight it is.

A light suddenly appeared from above them and I know what it meant.

Sid and Rose looks at us then they smiled.

"Thank you." They both said and then they disappeared into the light.

"Farewell Sid." I whispered.

When I look beside me wala na dun si Tyler. Nagulat ako because Tyler is staring blankly at the light and he is walking towards it.

"Tyler!" I shouted then I run towards him and grab his arm. Bigla syang natauhan then he looks at me. The light finally disappeared.

"What happened?" Naguguluhan nyang tanong sa akin.

"W-wala." I said then I let him go.

Bigla akong kinabahan. Tyler is attracted to the light. Does that mean umiikli na ang oras namin to get him back to his body.

"Let's go home." I said then I started walking again.

When we reached Tyler's house I started sneezing a couple times habang naglalakad kami sa may pathway papasok ng bahay nila. Tyler looks at me "I think you catched a cold." He said.

"Wala ito." I said. "Will you be okay without Sid?" I ask him. Tumango si Tyler.

"I know he is in a better place right now." Tyler said. "Nakakabanibago lang because I will not hear the words dude, bro and man anymore."

"Oo nga dude." I said mimicking Sid's funny accent then we both laugh.

"Sinong kausap mo hija?" A man's voice said. When I look at my back nakita so si Manong Henry.
