CHAPTER NINETEEN: Blacked Out

Nayeli

I am walking towards school with the annoying ghost still throttling behind me. I was supposed to apologize for being grumpy yesterday but after he said to my family that he is my soulmate I think I will have to delay my apology for awhile because I am so furious right now.

"Bakit ba hindi mo na naman ako pinapansin? Alam mo, I know that you can still hear me even if you are wearing those earphones." He said.

I grunted but I still ignored him. Bakit ba naman kasi napaka kulit ng isang ito?! And he doesn't know when and how to shut up!!!

"I had an awful dream." He said making me halt. I look back at him. Tyler is just staring at the ground.

"I heard two voices talking and they wanted to kill me. I think I didn't just had an ordinary accident on the tracks." He said then he lifted up his face to look at me.

"It's just a nightmare Tyler." I tried to convince him but I am not even convinced with what I said because I also had a nightmare last night and it includes a dark shadow who stabbed Tyler's body.

"Sinabi ng Tita Olga mo that there will be times na pwede ko ding marinig yung mga naririnig ng katawan ko what if that's what happened last night? What if it's not a nightmare but an actual conversation happening in front of my body?"

He has a point at aaminin ko medyo concern ako sa kanya. Iba pa rin kapag ang tinutulungan mo ay yung isang ghost na pwede pang mabuhay kesa yung mga multong kailangan lang makatawid sa kabilang buhay.

"How can they get inside your room that easily?" I said.

"Ikaw nga nakapasok ng walang kahirap hirap diba?" Tyler said with a laugh. Okay he just made another point.

"Seriously Tyler dapat sesantihin mo yung guard nyo na laging tulog. He is going to cause you so much trouble." I said to him.

"If my body dies then it's all over." Malungkot nyang sinabi.

"But why would somebody wants to kill you? Marami ka bang atraso?" I ask. Tyler just shook his head.

"So ibig sabihin you think somebody wants to kill you and is trying to hide his bad intention by covering it up with an accident?"

"I guess."

"I don't know much about race cars and racing but aren't they suppose to check and recheck your car before entering the tracks? It's pretty basic SOP diba?"

"Anything could go wrong in the tracks Nayi." Tyler replied.

"Yeah I already got that but now that somebody wants you dead we should look at things in a different light Tyler and the first question you should ask yourself is....who works on your car?"

Tyler looks at me with a shocked expression. I think he already has an idea what I am thinking right now.

Somebody wants him dead and the scary part is it could be someone he really trusts.

I honestly don't want to believe in what Nayeli is implying but it makes perfect sense. My crew is responsible for checking everything in my car. If the person who wants to kill me plans on covering it up with an accident then he must have an accomplice inside my team or even worst the killer might actually be someone in my team.

It already breaks my heart knowing all these things. I can't think of anyone in my team who actually wants me dead. I trust all of them.

"I don't think the killer is someone on my team Nayi. I trust all of them." I tried to argue with her. Nayeli just looks at me with a raised eyebrow coupled with crossed arms.

"One thing I learned the hard way Mr. Arevalo is that hindi ka dapat madaling magbigay ng tiwala because anyone can backstab you even if they are people who are very dear to you." Nayeli said then she started walking again. I just quietly followed her. I have to think this over and over again. Hindi pa din ako makapaniwala na may ahas sa team ko.

Masyadong malalim ang iniisip ko that I don't realized na huminto na pala sa paglalakad nya ni Nayeli so I bumped into her.

I instantly felt my heart beating faster.

Wait a minute!!!

It's her heart beat I am feeling not mine.

Geesh!!! It's that guy again?!!! Kaya naman pala this is how Nayi is feeling right now. Kinikilig na naman sya. Tssss... (-____- )

I can't help but to snort as I saw the faint blush on her cheeks.

I don't know why but I really don't like that Keith guy....I just don't! Isa sya sa mga taong sa unang tingin ko pa lang kumulo na agad yung dugo ko. I can't really explain it.

"Oh my god!!! Sasabayan ko ba sya?" Nayeli asks habang kinikilig kilig pa. I snorted again.

"Anong sa tingin mo?" She asks me.

"I don't know. Why are you asking me?"

"I need a point of view coming from a guy." She said.

"Bakit kailangan mo pa?"

"Syempre! I need some input if iisipin nya bang dead na dead ako sa kanya if sasabayan ko sya?"

I snorted again. "Bakit? Hindi ba?" I sarcastically replied making Nayi sneer at me then she looks back at Keith.

"Oh god!!! He's getting away!" Nayeli exclaimed then she started walking in haste to catch up on him.

I grunted deep inside. We end up walking two steps behind Keith.

"Ano bang nagustuhan mo sa isang ito?" I ask Nayeli as she dreamily stares at Keith's back.

"He is handsome, matalino, mabait and duhhh he is popular!" Bulong sa akin ni Nayeli.

"Yun lang?"

"Bakit ba ang dami mong angal? Matagal ko ng crush si Keith. Masama bang magka gusto?" Nayeli murmured then she looks dreamily at Keith again.

Pagpasok namin sa school campus nila I walk much faster hanggang sa I am already walking beside Keith. Nayeli started making weird faces to me again when I look back at her. I ignored her and studied this Keith guy's face.

Chinito at maputi. There's nothing extraordinary about his face. Bakit ba nagustuhan ito ni Nayeli?

"Alam mo Nayi kung tutuusin mas gwapo pa ako dito sa Keith mo." I said with a smirk on my face.

She just responded with a smug expression on her face. I was about to laugh hard when I felt like someone is choking me. Loud sounds of beeping machines ring inside my head. I heard someone cursing then I blacked out.
