Chapter 5

Chloe's POV

1 Week later- 

Brooke and I are rushing to the car, that's finally been fixed, to meet Gary at the park, Brooke's been crying all morning because she misses Sam, so I thought a day with Gary could do us all good. I fix her in to her carseat and give her some juice and her pig teddy. Late as always I pull up at the park to see Gary lent against his car. I get Brooke out and she runs over to the man she'd met once and cuddles him,

"Hello Brooke" Gary smiles, picking her up in his arms, I walk over and he kisses me on the cheek, "You look tired" Gary grins,

"Yes, working and being a full time single mum isn't a walk in the park, no punn intended" I laugh, 

"Well hopefully a relaxing day will be needed" He laughs, we walk in to the park and Brooke runs with her tiny legs over to the swings, I lift her up and place her in the swing and start pushing her, Gary leans against the pole holding the swing up and when I look at him he's smiling,

"What?" I smile, 

"Nothing" He exhales loudly,

"Tell me" I pout, 

"Okay" Gary stands up straight and walks so he's standing beside me, and he grabs my hand and turns me to face him, "We've been on one whole date and a half date at the Lake, yet this feels so normal" He smiles, pushing Brooke on the swing with one hand, 

"Really, because i've been feeling like this is a dream since I fell over in front of you" I laugh, 

"Why?" He asks,

"Because it's you, someone i've loved since I was a kid" I grin, 

"You love me?" He winks,

"Yeah, but then I got to know you" I smirk, 

"Ai, that's really mean" He grins, pulling me close to him and putting my arms around his neck,

"I really like you, and so does Brooke apparently" I grin,

"Good, I really like you too, and I think your daughter approves of this relationship" Gary smiles,

"Relationship?" I question,

"Oh, i'd really like you to be my girlfriend" He smiles, slowly moving his lips closer to mine,

"Fine" I wink, and I kiss him before he could comment on my answer,  

"Push Mummy" Brooke cries, distracting us from our moment, 

"Okay darlin'" I smile, 

"You two are having dinner at my place" Gary insists, 

"Do we get an option?" I grin, 

"No" Gary laughs. 

When Brooke and I get to Gary's house she is asleep, I walk up the long drive way with her in my arms and up 5 or 6 steps to Gary's front door, I knock a few times until Gary opens the door,

"Hi" He whispers, "Want to put her on the sofa?" He asks,

"Mhm" I struggle in the door, Gary leads us in to a beautiful room, and I put Brooke on the sofa, covering her with her blanket, 

"Wow, you have such a beautiful house" I smile, 

"Thank you" He replies, taking my coat, "Come in to the kitchen" Gary leads me and pours a glass of wine for us both,
