When Midnight got back to the house undetected she slipped her uniform off and into the bag that held the food. Even without her specialized boots she was silent climbing up to her second story room. Once inside she slipped silently into her bed, it was already 7.
"Ah, there you are Ms, Karra. Master Bruce has been worried sick about you." Alfred was standing outside the door.
Karra jumped up and looked down at him, "Alfred!" She took a breath and sat down on her bed.
Alfred came and sat beside her, "I do believe that, he is on a call with the board, but I'm sure he would want to know what you have been up to all night." They were silent for some time. "What were you up to last night?"
Karra gave a sigh, looking around the room she knew she would have to make something up that had proof with it otherwise, she didn't want to think about that. I just can't do that, not to Alfred, he understood everything even when Daddy and and I don't. "Just, you can't tell Daddy about it. I... I don't want him to know. I mean I don't want to lie to him but I don't want him to know, not yet."
Alfred, "This is your problem to solve, I am only here to help. I won't tell him unless you want me to."
She smiled up at him, I could probably tell him to jump off of Mt. Everest and he would do it. "I... I have a sister, a blood sister. The people at the Compound found her. After a while there I was getting lonely, so they asked what I wanted and I said, I want someone I can freely talk to who won't analyze everything I do and say. They looked for any blood relatives first. Everyone on Mommies side was dead or unreachable, and Daddy was the only other person I knew of but, he couldn't be reached. That's when I learned I had a blood sister, right before Mommy died, when she was still frozen, my sister wasn't. She was born in the compound, and got out with me, she's my same age. We don't know who her father is." She didn't want to tell him all, but Kayla did want to come here, sooner rather than later. We think that my Daddy is her Daddy. But we don't know. They did the same things to her that they did to me."
Alfred, "That is most interesting news. As I said I will not tell Master Bruce unless you wish me to."
Karra hugged him, "Thank you Alfred."
He hugged her back.
