Strange Visits

After texting both Shelby and Cammi that she was going to go visit her dad, Bristle tossed her phone in her purse and hopped off her bed. She needed to clear her mind of everything that was going on, so she could be happy to see her father.

He was awake and right now that was all that mattered. Sure it sounded selfish as hell, especially knowing Michelle was out there somewhere possibly being tortured but Bristle couldn't afford to think like that. She needed to be strong right now, at least until the visit was over, because then she'd continue her search for Michelle.

Meeting Alx in the hallway, she rolled her eyes.

Alx smiled, "You ready?"

"More than," Bristle replied as they made their way down the stairs.

From behind her Alx, replied, "Me, too."

But when they made their way into the living room, Bristle stopped at the entrance shocked. She couldn't believe her eyes. Feeling a smile tug at her lips, she watched as Garrett carried on a conversation with her mom and uncle with flowers in his hand.

Nervously, she neared the stud, "What's this?" She eyed the bouquet of tulips.

Garrett's smile grew when he saw Bristle, he looked from her mom to the flowers, "Oh uh my parents found out your dad has recovered so they thought it'd be a nice gesture to send these. I know you told me I can't come, so hopefully these can. So I wanted to give you these, I mean me-my parents did."

Bristle wanted nothing more than for Garrett to tag along but she didn't need the negative energy. Her family was so funny acting and one sided a lot times, and she did not want Garrett feeling an ounce of it. Also, the fact that after talking with Shelby and Cammi, it was best to leave outside friends alone, at least until this was all over. What happened to Kimmie shouldn't be repeated.

Taking them from him, she sent him a warm smile, "Thank you. He'll love these." She did, even if they were from his parents.

Seeing everyone staring at the two, he took a step towards the front door, "Well I guess I should uh let you guys hit the road...it was nice seeing you all again. Text me how everything goes, alright?" Bristle nodded, "Alright then I'll be going. Bye." He waved before heading out.

Bristle looked to the flowers, having the overwhelming urge to smell them, but she didn't due to all eyes being on her.

"He's such a nice boy, and he's so darn cute and goodness, it is quite obvious he has the eyes for you." Her mom complimented. Bristle couldn't believe it. A compliment from her mom? Regarding something that includes Bristle's involvement.

Though she didn't agree with her mom that Garrett liked her, Bristle kept quiet and smiled even bigger.

Alx cleared her throat, "We should be going."

Charlie nodded from the side, "Right. Let's get along then."

To much of Bristle's surprise, the ride was more than smooth. Her mother kept talking about how cute and sweet Garrett was. Bristle hated that she kept saying how much he liked her, but she did not interrupt. Her mother was happy. She was happy for Bristle, and it had been a while, so Bristle refused to lose that moment. Bristle felt her father's awakening brought her mother's sudden burst of happiness for Bristle on. She knew having him back would answer all the problems.

But what Bristle did notice was the fact that both Alx and Charlie were both quiet. She expected that from Alx, because the attention was being pulled off of her, but for Charlie, Bristle wasn't quite sure. All she knew was he was hiding something, and she was determined to find out. Or would he even be there long enough for her to?
