"The key."

"What about it?" She asked, pointing to the one she wore around her neck.

"What does it unlock?"

"Many things."

He stared back at her, eyes locked onto hers in an expression of pure awe as she spoke.

"It unlocks secrets. It unlocks dreams, and it unlocks nightmares. Memories, truths, pains we keep buried six feet under and joys we want to shout at the sky."

"And you?"

"What?" She asked, face shifting into a soft expression of confusion.

"What do you unlock?"

She did not respond for a moment.

"I do not unlock anything. I'm just...me."

He smiled gently, bright eyes softening. "Yes, you do. You unlock me."

"I...unlock you?"

"You unlock the parts of me that I'm afraid to show. You unlock the whole world for me. You unlock my mind, my senses, my horizons are expanded tenfold by you."

"Stop, you're making me blush!" She laughed, covering her lovely face with her hands, those hands he loved to hold and caress and kiss.

"I'll tell everyone. I'll shout it to the whole city, no...the whole world!"

"Heheh, then do it!" She laughed. He turned back to her and walked forward.

He stopped right in front of her and leaned in closely.

"I love you."

"...why did you whisper?"

He stepped closer, breath ghosting past her ear and making her shiver.

"Because you are my whole world."
