Bethany's POV

"She works in the building where we have our meetings." He sighed. "Beth, just stay away from her."

Is he close to her or something? She seems like a nice person.

"Harry, she se- hold on." I was Interrupted by the doorbell ringing.

"What's wrong?" I could tell he was beginning to worry.

"Some ones at the door." I got up from my seat and went to the door

"Who?" He asked.

I opened the front door.

"Who is it ?" He repeated .

"Um. I-I'll call you back."

"Beth wait!" He said but I hung up on him.

"Hey neighbor!" Melinda smiled. She had a plate with tin foil wrapped around it.

"Hello. What's that?" I pointed to what she was carrying.

"Key lime pie. It's for you." She handed me the pie.

Key lime pie?

Did she just say that?

Some one hold me.. Like now.

Key lime pie is my favorite!

It's literally the best thing ever

No lie.

God bless key lime pie.

"Oh thanks! I love key lime pie. But wasn't I suppose to make you something?" I put emphasis on the 'you'. "You are the new neighbor."

"It's fine. I just really like to bake."

"Care to have some with me?" I pointed to the pie that was in my hands.

"Sure." She accepted and walked in.

"What a lovely home you have."

"Thank you!" I walked to the kitchen.

"You're all alone in this big house?" She walked into the kitchen.

"For now." I took off the tin wrapper and got a knife from the drawer.

Why the hell does this pie have to look so yummy?

I'm about to dive in.

I put the knife in the center of the pie, but couldn't let my self cut it.

"Ugh!" I put down the knife and groaned.

"Something wrong?" Melinda asked

"It's just.. It's just so beautiful! I don't want to cut it!" I confessed.

F her for making this pie look so delicious.

Literally.

If I wasn't married to Harry, I would definitely marry this pie.

That sounds weird...

"It's just a pie."

"But... It's beautiful." I pouted.

"Taste even betterrrr!" She sang.

She was probably right.

It probably did taste better.

I finally had the courage to cut the pie.

I handed her a plate and a fork and we sat down at the table.

"Oh! Where you already eating? I'm so sorry!" She referred to my plate of spaghetti on the table.

"It's fine! I was done anyways" I waved her off and put the dish in the sink.

I wasn't really done.. But I am now since she bought over some key lime pie!

"How long have you lived here?" She started the conversation

"I've lived here for two years." I took a bite of the pie. It was delicious.

I'm literally in heaven.

"What made you decide to move over here?" I asked.

"Needed an upgrade!" She laughed ."it's beautiful over here." She added

"Yea. That's why me and my husband moved over here."

It really was the reason why me and Harry got the house. Two months after we got engaged, we bought this house. But that was two years ago.

"You're married?"

"Yes." I answered her.

"That's lovely. I better get going, it's getting late." She got up from her chair and put her dish in the sink.

"Alright." She walked to the door and I followed her.

"Hope you liked it!" She said walking down the path.

"I did! It was lovely. Thank you."

"See you around." She turned and waved and I waved back. I locked the door and went to go eat the remainder of my pie.

Mmmmm. Sweet, sweet pie.

Melinda seemed like a nice person. I don't know what Harry's talking about. He's just being paranoid & over protective.

I remember when he wouldn't let me cross the street at one point because he thought i was going to get 'hit by a car.' Even though there were no cars coming.

That's my husband for ya!
