Chapter 45: I can't believe it

Ashleys POV:

I had decided to go surprise Star this weekend. I drove for a few hours until I came across her apartment. Hailey had given me her address and told me her favorite flower. I grabbed a bundle of daises from a shop and drove to her apartment

I walked up to the her apartment door and knocked. I heard shuffling and then I heard Star

"Hold on a sec!" I fluffed my hair and the door opened. Star was just sliding her shirt on, her hair was a mess and her shorts were half undone. Her eyes widened when she saw me

"A-Ashley. Uh... What're you doing here?" I furrowed my brow as I heard more shuffling in the house

"Can I come in?" She looked even more worried. She shook her head

"No, the house, you know, it's uh... A huge mess yeah." She's hiding something. I heard a sneeze. Okay, a someone. I pushed past her into the apartment. She tried grabbing my arm and pushing me away but it didn't work. I saw a man laying on the couch wrapped in a bed sheet naked

I can't believe it. SHE cheated on me. For once, I know what it feels like to be heartbroken. My chest hurt and my blood boiled. I turned to see Star looking sad. I motioned to the half naked sleeping man

"Care to explain?!" I asked rather harshly. She flinched and rubbed her arm awkwardly

"Well, a couple my friends and I went to the bar last night and we got wasted. This guy offered me a ride home and I guess we..." I dropped the flowers on the floor by my feet

"I can't believe you! The first time I actually get a girlfriend I like a lot and she cheats on me." A tear ran down her pale cheek

"It was a drunken mistake! Like you've never gotten drunk and fucked some chick before!" The guy on the couch came to and looked at me

"Who the hell are you?" I glared at him

"I WAS her boyfriend until you came along. Get the fuck out." He stood up and grabbed some of his stuff

"Listen man I-" he started but I punched the wall leaving an indent

"GET OUT!!" I yelled. He looked terrified and ran out the door. Star looked at me as tears streamed down her face

"We're done Star." She took a step towards me and I shot my hand up to stop her. She stopped but she also flinched and turned her head. She acted as if I was going to hit her. I put my hand down and sighed

"Ash... It was a drunken mistake. My friends wanted to go party and we partied too hard. I'm so sorry..." My heart throbbed. How can I believe her? She looked like she meant it but... I need to think

"I need to think about us, Star. I don't know if I should believe you or not. Goodbye. For now." I walked past her and down to my car. I looked out my window and saw Star outside her door looking back at me. I sighed and drove off

This day can't get any worse, can it?
