Chapter 8

Taika's P.O.V

"You look so cute!" A voice squeals through the halls of the manor. 'No, not her.' But I recognize that screech anywhere.

"CCCIIIIIEEEEEELLLLLL!!!"

I walk to the main hall to see Ciel, Elizabeth, and... 'I can't believe it.' I can't help it. I start to laugh. Out loud.

Lux turns her head to look at me. "Seriously?"

"What'd you expect?"

Lux is wearing a horribly frilly dress that's pink with high-heeled shoes that are pink and knee socks that are frilly at the top with pink lace. Ciel mouths sorry to Lux.

I look at Elizabeth, who seems terribly proud of her work. 'Gee, you put Lux in frills and pink. Add a few more girly things and you'd be asking for your death. Ugh, so many names and I can't say any of them because the author doesn't swear.'

I walk down the stairs, acting as normal as I can. "Hello, who might you be?"

"My name is Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford. But just call me Lizzy! I'm Ciel's fiancee!"

I resist the urge to harm her in any way, shape, or form. "I'm Taika."

I'm guessing 'Lizzy' feels threatened by me, because she goes to hug Ciel, and she glares at me behind his back. 'That little... author! Let me swear!'

Lux looks at me with a mixture of sadness and annoyance. Sad for me, and annoyed by being stuck in pink and frills. And of course, Sebastian chooses to enter at that time.

"Lady Elizabeth, might I ask why Lux is dressed in pink and frills?" He asks, giving her his signature, closed-eye smile.

"Because I wanted to make her look cute and cheerful! I know! Ciel, we must have a ball!"

Ciel facepalms. 'I know how you feel.' I look at Lux.

"Eliza-er, Lizzy, it will have to wait for tomorrow. I have something urgent to do."

Elizabeth pouts. "Alright, but only because it's urgent. And because I want to go shop for a new dress."

'Spoiled, little- gah, I wanna say it!'

Lux's P.O.V

'I take back what I said. Who the heck wears this sort of dress?' I just watch as Lizzy gives Ciel a bone-crushing hug. Taika glares at Lizzy and Lizzy glares back.

I zone out and the next thing I know, Ciel is asking for me in his office. I follow Sebastian to Ciel's office. Sebastian knocks and a faint voice tells us to come in.

"Young master, I have brought Lux." Sebastian announces.

"Very well, you may leave now." Ciel waves Sebastian away.

"Umm, so you wanted t-to see me?"

"I apologize on behalf of Lizzy's actions. I would have informed you if I knew she was coming."

"Y-you don't have to apologize for anything. I don't mind." 'I just wish it wasn't this frilly and pink.'

"So, Sebastian tells me that you four are different."

I blink. 'What does he mean by that?' "Isn't everybody different in their own way?"

Ciel looks at me, baffled by my response. Realization becomes clear on his face. "That's not what I meant, Miss Lux."

"Oh. Umm."

A knock sounds on the door.

"Come in."

Taika, Kim, and Nina come in with Sebastian following.

"Now then, would any of you four care to explain something?" It sounded more of a demand than a question.

I look at Nina and she looks at me and nods. I sigh. "We are different. We're witchlings."

" 'Witchlings'. Witches are mere speculation. I thought you'd say something along the lines of demon or angel." Ciel says

"Nope. I can prove it." I change my wand back from the necklace form I had it in. "This is my wand."

Kim pulls hers out from her backpack. When I look at Taika and Nina, they already have their wands out.

"We came from the 21st century because of a stupid mistake I made. We were supposed to go to Japan, but then we ended up here. Where we're from, all of this is fiction. Made up. Imaginative."

Kim cuts in. "How did you figure out anyway? It wasn't very likely that you'd search our stuff, since we didn't appear as a threat to you."

"Your souls were... different. Too different from an average human soul." Sebastian says.

I snap my fingers. "I forgot that one tiny detail."

Taika facepalms and Nina and Kim groan. I decide to figure out a question I've had since last night. "Ciel, have you already met Alois Trancy?"

"That blonde-haired brat? I wish that I had never met him."

"Have you already figured out who stripped you of your pride?"

"Yes, the one behind Noah's Ark Circus. Baron Kelvin."

"Is Lord Siemens dead?"

"He died because the queen wanted to test my loyalty to her."

'So the anime is over.'

"Why do you need to know all of this?" Kim asks me.

Taika answers. "The anime is over, isn't it? So we don't have any clue about what'll happen next."

"Well, since you four seem to know that I am the Queen's Watch Dog, you will assist me on cases." Ciel tells us.

"Yeah, leave that to Lux. She's the only one of us who's watched the full anime series of this." Nina informs Ciel.

"Very well then. Lux, you may change if you'd like before we depart. As for you three," He directs at Taika, Kim, and Nina, "you will have to distract my fiancee for the time being."

I leave the room without a word and walk straight to mine. 'How did I even know the way? Whatever.' I walk in the room and open the closet. I see an array of dresses. 'One of the servants must have put them in here.'

I choose another white dress that has Midnight blue accents and is similar to the one from before. I set the pink one with frills on the bed and change.

I grab my backpack and change the design to a bunny backpack. 'Why not?' I put my journal inside.

'Wait, I'm still wearing the pink shoes.' I look around and find my black mary-janes from before. 'How the heck did I even end up being able to walk in those heels? I'm sure it won't happen again.' I replace the socks with regular white, knee-high socks. I turn my wand back into a necklace.

I hold my backpack instead of putting it on. I walk down to the main hall, where Ciel and Sebastian are waiting.

"Are you ready to go, Lux?" Sebastian asks me. I nod and get out my parasol.
