Sweden rubbed a hand down his face, shaking his head as Denmark told his wondrous tale of pirates. The story was all in good fun, his own daughter sitting beside the Dane's boy as Finland translated some parts of the difficult-to-follow Danish into Swedish. Berwald was fixing some snacks for the large group, the five Nordics and three children. The oldest was Anna, who was Sweden and Finland's; next was Delphine, who belonged to Iceland and Hong Kong; and the youngest was Mitchell, who sat in his mom's lap. His mother was Norway, and Denmark was the dad.

When the smell of chicken nuggets and macaroni wafted into the room, Anna (who was 10) took some of the plates from her dad to give to the other kids. The adults had chicken that was cut up in a gravy broth. Mathias had just finished spinning his tale as the kids ate.

"Come on and eat you big idiot." Lukas handed his husband a bowl, earning a kiss and two kids acting like what they were.

"Ewww!" Anna was silent, taking after her father in that sense and with her height, and after her mom with hair color and eyes. Delphine wrinkled her nose in disgust, looking at her cousin.

"How are you not freaked out by this, Ann?" As a country, her physical age of seven wasn't really how she acted. She was more as seven going on twenty.

" 'm n't." She shrugged, her eyes flickering over to her left. The boys were outside with a sister, and they belonged to China/Russia and Greece/Japan. They were being babysat while the four adults went on a double date. Tino had gone to call them for dinner. The first to appear was a boy with a silvery gray ponytail and honey gold eyes. That was Maliki, Moscow in a personified form. He had a slight crush on her, and it was kind of obvious to Tino. But what Berwald doesn't know can't hurt him. Who followed was Artemis, or Athens, with her short ruffled brown locks and sharp eyes. Behind her was her brother Shirō, with his shoulder length black hair and dull brown eyes. He was known as Kyoto to Kiku's boss.

Maliki smiled, tightening the band that held his hair back. It was a red hairband that stuck out like a sore thumb in the silver colored locks of hair. Anna caught herself staring and looked intensely at her chicken nugget. Finland gave them each a plate, only receiving a thank you from Moscow.

"Xîexîe, Tino." He bowed, keeping the plate's contents on the glass.

"You're welcome, Maliki." Sweden was joined by Tino on the couch, cuddling him with an arm as he balanced a bowl of broth on his knee. Maliki, Artemis, Shirō, Anna, Delphine and Mitchell were sitting in a circle, munching on their food while the adults made pointless chatter.

"I think I should tell another story." Denmark said suddenly, when Maliki kindly interrupted.

"If you do not mind, I would like to spin a tale aru." He had gained his mother's verbal tick, and Mathias gave him the floor.

"Please imagine a deep night, blackness for miles and the limbs of trees reaching for the stars like brain thirsty zombies." Everyone closed their eyes, partners sitting in each other's respective laps. Norway felt Mitchell climb into his lap, Anna moving to sit on the floor beside her father's leg and Delphine rested against Emil.

"Now, I must say that this is just an old tale to scare children. To keep them from running off. But really, don't be startled, aru." As Maliki continued, Anna watched the visual scene his words created dance before her very eyes.

The air clung to the curves of a ship, whispering directions to the wooden pallets as if it was the captain commanding the rowers. The slight river was floating the boat towards the ocean, three prisoners gagged and bound to the main mast of the stolen vessel. The three girls, dressed in silks the color of blood and of the stars, called out against the gagging ball of fabric tied in their mouths in an attempt to be saved.

"Silence!" The leader ordered, holding his gleaming silver katana to the first girl's neck. Her blonde hair was ragged from when the men had beaten and harmed her. "Or your little friend gets it." His threat hung around their ears, and the victims soon silenced their own cries.

On, they continued for miles and miles, for days non stop until they were planted upon a stretch of land in the middle of what is now the East Japanese Sea.

"Now," the captain spoke after days of near silence, "get off. Live on this piece of land, and don't even think of leaving." The girls jumped from the ship, landing in the shallow water and looking back at their kidnapper. He was ordering his men in a language they couldn't understand, and the ship creaked a bit as it was pushed off from the sand.

"What is he doing? Those girls must be of high status." Delphine scoffed. "Why leave them to die?"

"B' p'ti'nt." Anna scolded, glaring daggers into her posh cousin.

"Anyway, aru..." Maliki picks up where he left off, catching their attention back as he explained how the girls managed to survive for only a short while.

Eventually after several weeks, the last girl (the princess of The Kingdom that is now in the area of India) lost her will, and she threw herself down beside the embodiments of her friends. All that was left, by the time anyone found the land, was the strips of red and yellow silk that had adorned their skin. The bead and pearls had been washed away with their flesh, so no one was able to identify their poor souls.

"It is said that near the main island of South Korea that you can still hear the sound of those girls crying out for each other across that same stretch of ocean, but no one has been able to place the names to the voices."

As Maliki finished his story, Tino shutters and leans into Berwald's protective arms and notices how lovingly Anna looks at Maliki.

'What Sve doesn't know can't hurt him that much.' Least to say, Sve isn't a very happy camper when he finds out Anna and Maliki start to date.

Angry Sweden is a scary Sweden. He means well though ~
