I sat, staring after Seth, a look of confusion crossing my face.

"What happened?" I asked, looking towards the boys sat around the table. They all shrugged, staring at their plates, unusually quiet. I frowned to myself, losing my appetite as I couldn't help but feel that it was my fault Seth had left.

Realising that Seth had mentioned someone called 'Nessie,' I voiced my confusion as to who this person was. Once again, the boys all stared at me blankly, unsure of what to say.

"She's Bella and Edward Cullen's daughter," Embry replied reluctantly.

"I'd better go home. Thank you for breakfast" I said, slowly rising from my seat.

"Lillian, don't try and find Seth. The Cullen's are people you will want to meet after some explanation as to who they really are," Sam said, choosing his words carefully as a sense of authority seeped into his tone.

My confusion grew, but I didn't want to upset a group of people that I was hoping would end up being my friends.

As I stepped out into the rain, I couldn't help but think of Seth. I wanted to know what was wrong with him and make him feel better but I had only known him for a day and as much as I hated to admit it, I don't think I was capable of making him feel any better.

As I arrived home, I noticed that my dad's truck was missing from the driveway meaning that he had already left for work. I sighed, opening the front door, feeling that my mood had dampened since Seth had walked out without an explanation.

Returning to my bathroom, I took another shower and changed into my regular clothes: a pair of light blue skinny jeans and a large grey jumper with sleeves rolled up over my wrists. I placed Seth's hoodie on my bed, deciding that I was going to avoid the situation as long as I could.

Making my way downstairs I noticed that the rain had finally let up and so I opened the front door to let the breeze in. I Slowly made my way through the necessary daily chores until I was left with nothing to do. On impulse, I decided to explore La Push going for a much needed walk.

Grabbing all of my necessary items: phone, keys and jacket, I made my way out of the front door before locking it behind me. Again, I walked in the opposite direction of Sam's house sticking to avoiding the situation in case Seth had gone back to Sam's.

As I walked past an entrance to the woods, I decided that there would be no harm in exploring the woods too. As soon as I walked two metres into the woods, I was once again amazed at the beauty of La Push. The trees looked as though they reached the sky as I looked up. The sound of wildlife, insects and deer's, filled my ears as I walked further down the trail. The woods seemed endless as I followed the trail.

A large gust of wind suddenly blew my hair in front of my face. I froze in my spot as the air turned still once again. That was unusual. Due to my fear, I decided to turn back around and head back to the main roads. I was stopped in my tracks as another gust of wind blew by my face. The sound of laughter was heard to my left as I whipped my head in that direction.

A middle aged man stood three metres away from me, his dark hair styled to perfection as his full lips smirked at me. It wasn't his smirk that made me feel uneasy; it was his blood red eyes that stared into my own.

"Aren't you a nice little surprise," he said, his smirk never leaving his perfectly sculptured face.

"What do you want?" I asked, shaking from fear. I put on a brave face but my body language expressed my genuine feelings.

The man stared at me as a lion would when it was stalking its prey. I took a slight step back, planning my escape but the man anticipated that. He moved with inhuman speed, appearing behind me in less than a second. I was at a loss of words as I tried to understand how his speed was possible.

I felt a cold hand move my hair off my neck. The coldness sent a chill through my body as I tried to move away from the cold stranger. He grabbed my shoulders with force as he pulled my back into his front.

"Your blood smells irresistible. Almost as good as you look," he said, a finger running up my arm. He reached his arm around my shoulders, under my neck, restricting me of any movement. "You don't talk much do you?" he said, his nose running up my neck.

Impulsively, I tried to bite the man's arm to get away from his grip. He reacted instantly, pushing my back resulting in my head hitting the tree in front of me. I backed up, pushing my back into the tree as I trembled in fear, the strangers red eyes staring right back at me. He walked over to me as I flinched back. His hand extended, hitting me across the face with such a force that I fell to the floor, my arm slamming against a stone on the ground and my knees grazing against loose branches that had fallen to the floor. The man came over again as he pulled my head to side by my hair, eliciting a scream from me as the other side of my head slammed against the tree.

I could feel the blood running down my face from both cuts on my head as well as the blood coming from many other cuts on my body.

The man's eyes turned black, almost animalistic, as he stared at the blood on my face. Moving his head towards my neck, I closed my eyes and whimpered as the tears fell down my face.

I heard a growl as the man's weight was released from my body. I saw a giant russet wolf knock the man to the floor as they began to circle each other. Suddenly, the wolf pounced knocking the man to the floor as he ripped his head off. I screamed again as I began to cough blood.

My sight became blurry as I tried to keep myself conscious. Suddenly, a shirtless Jacob appeared in front of me, a look of shock and worry crossing his face. He picked me up as carefully as he could, running with me in his arms. Jacob's eyes kept looking down at me as he ran, his eyes taking into account the amount of blood I had lost.

We arrived at an unknown house in three minutes, the modern exterior sticking out the most. Jacob carried me inside where the sound of Seth's voice filled my ears, "What the hell happened?"

I felt Seth's warm arms take me from Jacob's as Iwas placed on a table.
