Same day

Nate finished his shift at 12.
I finished at 3, so he waited for me.

This has been our routine for the last 2 months.

At first I told him he didn't have to and I'd prefer if he didn't but he didn't listen.

I stopped trying to make him leave after about 2 Saturday's.

After heading out of the door with Nate, we both walked home.

We talked about assignments and how he needs help so I told him to come over tomorrow morning.

"Really?" He looked dazzled but quickly changed his expression with a smirk.

"Yeah, why not," I shrugged, not meeting his eyes.

"True. see you at 11?" He confirmed as we reached my house.

"I look forward to seeing you" I said wearing one of his sly smiles.

He laughed.

"As do I," he bowed.

He winked and headed off.

I shook my head giggling.

I went inside and greeted my Father.
"Hi dad," I said hugging him.

He nodded.
"A friend of mine is coming over tomorrow, is that alright?"

"That blonde girl?" He said lazily.

"No.. Uh- it's another friend.
I've told you about Nate" I said shyly.

"Hmm. A boy," he smiled.
I nodded.

"Okay," he shrugged.

"Alright. I'm going to do my homework." I said running up the stairs. As soon as I got to my room, I called Cassie.

"Hey you," she greeted,
"Hey. So I invited Nate over to do homework tomorrow and at the time It didn't feel like a big deal but now that I have started actually thinking it feels weird. he will be in my house! And we will most likely be in my room! MY ROOM, CASSIE," I blurted out.

"Slow. down! And take a breath,"

I did exactly that.

"This is a good thing! You can get a chance to do stuff.... if you know what I mean," she said is a strange voice.

"Wha- no! Cassie, I only want to do homework!"

"Come on, Amy! This is your chance.
You like him a lot, I know that.
You don't get that close or be so open with anyone but me and now you are with him,"

"That's because he's different," I said softly.

"Then show him how you feel.
Or tell him." she said nicely.

I nodded, forgetting she couldn't hear me.
After that we talked about more about Nate coming over but I changed the subject to her and Johnny.

She obviously knew I was trying to not talk about it so she just went with it.

She talked about a date at a restaurant that well or something but I was too busy thinking.

I was worried for no reason!
Why am I being a pussy.
It will be okay.

I am strong.
I'm not going to let a guy bring out the chicken in me.
No.
Tomorrow won't be just homework.

I won't back down.
