Chapter 27

After having Carlisle check on Embrys wrist I walked outside to take a deep breath before Jake and Edward came
"I always knew you'd destroy her" Jake said angrily
I watched as Edward's breath shook
"She thinks Carlisle can turn her at the last minute, like he did for me and Esme" Edward said sadly
"Can he?" Jake asked
"It's not likely" I said looking down
"Probability is slight" Edward said
I looked down as my breath got shakey
"and if her heart fails..." Edward said trying not to cry
"Look Jacob I need you to do something for me. You too Nova" Edward said
Jacob scoffed looking away
"for her. You have a connection with her that i'll never understand" Edward said
"I don't think that'll work" I said reading his mind
"What?" Jake asked
"Maybe you could talk to her, change her mind. You can keep her alive." He said
"and if I can't" Jake asked
"Edward no" I said reading his mind again
"I won't ask Nova. If she dies, you get what you always wanted." Edward started
Jake looked at him with a confused face
"To kill him" I finished
I started crying as Jake went inside
"Jeez Eddie haven't you heard of condoms" I said crying
He hugged me and I started sobbing
"I'm so sorry Nov. I never meant for any of this to happen" Edward said hugging me
Embry came out and walked down
"Am I interrupting something" He smiled
"Look Nova. If she dies I don't want you to stop Jake. I will tell the others the same thing. No retaliation cause I would have broke the treaty. I just don't want you here while it happens. I want you to know I care about you a lot" Edward said crying
I started crying as Embry took me to the car. He looked at me with sad eyes
"it's bad isn't it" He asked
"You didn't see her?" I replied
"Carlisle wouldn't let me upstairs he just checked me to make sure the shocks didn't mess up my body" He said
"She's pregnant and human" I sadly said
"Are you kidding?" He said angrily
I started crying into my hands. We reached Emily's house and I ran out of the car locking myself into my room. Everybody came up and tried getting me to come out. Paul knocked on my door
"Nova. I know the circumstances are not good but we don't know what happened and we're worried about you. Please come out. I promise we won't pry" He said
I came out and he hugged me as I cried

I went downstairs and as I was outside I heard Jake howl and everyone replied
"He told everyone" I told Emily
"about what" Emily said
"Shit! He told everyone Bella's pregnant" I yelled
"Jake" Everyone said
I ran outside hoping I was gonna be able to phase. I kept running and jumped in the air phasing easily. I ran out and met them at the spot they were at.
"Nova! You phased?!" Embry said
"Is it true Jacob" Jared said
"It's growing fast" Embry added
"It's unnatural" Leah said
" Dangerous" Jared said
"Monstrosity" Embry added
"an abomination on our land" Paul said
"We can't allow it" Jared and paul said
"We can't allow it" Everyone said
"Enough" I yelled making everyone stop
"We have to protect the tribe. What they've bred won't be able to control its thirst. Every human will be in danger" Sam said
"We're ready" Quil said
"No time to waste" Leah added
"Now" Jake asked
"We must destroy it before it's born" Sam said
"You mean..." Jake stared
"Kill Bella?" I finished
"Her choice affects us all." Sam said
"Bella's human out protection applies to her" Jake said
"She's dying anyways" Leah yelled
I snapped at her knocking her to the ground and biting her. Sam growled making us both stop fighting
"We have real enemies to fight tonight" Sam yelled
"Sam no!" I yelled back
"Tonight?!" Jake said
Seth whimpered walking next to us
"You will fight with us twins" Sam said
His alpha voice was strong for us both
"We will not" We both yelled
"We are the grandchildren of Ephraim Black!" I yelled
"We are the grandchildren of a chief! We weren't born to follow you!" Jake yelled
"Or anyone else!" I yelled
Me and Jake pushed past Sam and ran off. I looked back watching Embry stay in place as Sam death stared at him. My eyes saddened and I continued running

We reached the Cullens house and phased back. I looked at him crying
"He's against us" I cried
"He didn't have a choice. Sam made him" Jake replied hugging me
"We have to warn the Cullens" I said
We heard creaking and I looked back hopeful but it was only Seth
"Woah" Seth said
I looked around for Embry
"Don't worry. They're not following us." Seth said
I looked at him sad
"What do you think you're doing here?" Jake asked
"I left Sam's pack" He replied
"Go home Seth" I said
"I won't stand behind him" He yelled back
"Oh yes you will! I'm not kidding get out of here" I said
"Is that an order? Gonna make me bow down too?" Seth said
"We're not ordering anyone. Look we're just going off on our own okay?" Jake said
"Great i've got your backs" Seth smiled
"No you don't!" Jake yelled
"If Sam comes after Bella are you really ready to fight your own brothers?" Jake said
"Your sister" I added
"If it's the right thing to do. Nova you're about to fight against your husband because it's right" Seth replied
"Whatever" Jake said
"I'm gonna go give the Cullens a heads up and tell Emily what happened" I said
I walked down and ran to the door opening it
"Mom! Dad!" I yelled
Esme ran to me hugging me
"are you okay?!" She said
"They're coming for Bella" I cried
"Who" Edward said
"Sam and the pack and.." I looked down
"Embry?" Rose asked
"Sam has him under alphas orders. He couldn't come with me even if he wanted to." I cried dropping down to my knees
The cullens surround me holding me as I cried my heart out
"You're gonna have to cut your feelings and thoughts off from the pack" Alice said
"I can do that?" I asked
"You can choose what you want them to see with your mind reading powers" Edward said
"You want him to think you don't care. If he hurts he will be distracted and we could protect Bella" Rose said
"I'll do it" I said
I walked back outside and met up with the boys
