Chapter 17

Training was horrible. I couldn't shake off the fear of watching my family get hurt over me. I'd do anything to keep them safe but I couldn't talk them out of it. The wolves met up with the Cullens. I walked down the pathway. I was taking charge this time cause I was the one they want
"Nova you're not phased" Alice asked
"The rest don't trust us enough to be in their human forms" Edward said
"they came. That's what matters" Carlisle responded
"Nova will you translate" Carlisle said
Jake went up to Bella before she said hi
"Welcome. Jasper has experience with newborns. He will teach us how to defeat them" Carlisle said
"how can we trust them" Paul said
"how are they different" sam asked
"They wanna know how the newborns are different from you guys" I said
"They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues" Carlisle said
"do we even have a chance" I asked
"our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of this life" Carlisle said
"We need them to get through this. I know we've had our differences but this is bigger than us" I thought
"Carlisle's right. That's why they are created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army but no human army could stand against them." Jasper said
The pack growled in response
"This isn't worth it please" I thought
"yes it is" Embry said
"This is for you" Sam said
"We'd do anything for you" Jake said
"You guys could get hurt and id never be able to forgive myself" I thought
"Now, the two most important things to remember are, first, never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. And second, never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that and you will lose" Jasper said
Emmet and Jasper demonstrated, then Carlisle and Edward. Next was Rosalie and Jasper. Then Alice and Jasper. I watched the Cullens fight as Embry came up to me and I leaned on him sadly
"Some of you are gonna get hurt" I said
"I know"
"Some of you could get killed cause of me. It's gonna be 100 times worst than this right?" I said looking at him
He looked at me and leaned his head down as I pet it and kissed his nose. I didn't realize Bella was doing the same thing with Jake and Edward was mad. I overheard him walk up to Bella and say
"done for the day"
I got on Embrys back and we went back to Emily's. I went up to my room and took a shower. I came back down and laid on the couch without even realizing it I fell asleep while the boys were outside

dream: I watched as all my pack members were ripped apart. The last was Embry who was killed by Riley. He stood there smiling at me. I watched as Victoria came out of the shadows and walked behind Riley
"I want you to do something for me" Victoria whispered to Riley
"Kill her" she told Riley
He attacked me and I screamed loudly

I woke up screaming and all of the pack came inside rushing to my side.
"Baby what's wrong" Embry asked
"I watched all of you die" I cried
"We're okay Luna" Sam said
"we're right here" Paul said
"Are you okay?" Jake held my hand
"she was behind it all" I said
"who was behind it!" Embry asked
"Victoria. The intruder, the newborn army, they're all her puppets" I said crying
"Alice would've seen if she wanted to make an army" Jake said
"What if she's hiding behind them" I said
"and letting someone else decide?" Embry asked before holding me
I called the cullens and told them what I dreamed of and they said Bella had the same dream. Could it mean something?

Edward and Bella walked to the field
"you're not fighting? What did you pull a muscle or something?" Jake asked
"He's doing it for me okay" Bella said
"whatever" Jake replied
"Just tell us the plan" I said
"this field will give us an advantage in battle. We need to lure the newborns here will Bella's and Nova's scent, but it has to end here" Jasper said
"I think Nova shouldn't be here" Jake said
"what no Jake I'm staying" I argued
"You'll be vulnerable since it's Riley. You could get hurt." Jake said
"I can't leave Embry or the pack" I said
"Edward and I are going to a campsite. Even if he carries me they'll still pick up on our scents" Bella said
"Victoria wants Bella, Riley wants you." Edward added
hearing it sent shivers down my spine
"Your stench however is revolting" Edward said to Jake
"Dude you really don't wanna start comparing stinks" Jake said
"Shut up Jake" I said pushing him
"What he means is that your scent will mask mine if you carry me" Bella said
"Done. What about Nova" Jake said
"The scent they picked up was from..." Jasper said
"was from when I was human. That's the only time i've ever went to Bella's house. Riley knew my perfume" I said
"They won't know it's you if you're in your phased" Jasper added
"This is not a good idea" Edward said
"Edward. They won't want to get anywhere near his odor" Jasper said
"Why can't Nova take her" Edward asked
"I don't have a scent. Only female shifters have no scent at all." I said
"Okay let's just try it" Bella said
she had Jake pick her up
"Eau de wolf coming up" Jake said
"Run" Edward said
Jake ran away with Bella and Jasper went off to test it
"all I picked up was wolf stench. No Bella" He said
"This will work Edward" I said
"Great" Edward said
These were the last few days before the fight. I couldn't wait to get this over. If any of them died i'd kill everyone in my path who hurt them.
