Chapter 16

I haven't talked to Jacob for a few days. I even had someone change shifts with me so I wouldn't patrol with him. My dad wants to help but he can't. He can't even phase anymore and he'll get killed trying to intervene. We have to do something to call him off. It was my turn to patrol with Sam and we switched with the cullens and Rosalie looked at me. I hadn't phased yet and she looked at my tattoo. She walked up to me.
"yea?" I said confused
"You have a medusa tattoo" she said
"Yea I got it last year" I replied
"i'm so sorry" She said with soft eyes
she walked away and met up with the other cullens that switched with us. I looked at Sam and he smiled at me
"Everything okay Luna?" He asked
"yea i'm okay" I replied

I was getting ready for Alice's party. I had gotten ready with Alice and Rosalie. I sat on the chair and Alice curled my hair. Rosalie sat next to me. I looked at her
"Can I ask you something?" Rosalie asked looking at my tattoo
"yea what's up?" I replied
"What made you get the tattoo" She asked
"I went through a dark moment after I got raped and this is my way of showing I am a survivor." I replied
"I am too" She said looking down
"what happened" I asked
She looked at me with sadness
"You don't have to tell me" I replied
"my life was perfect. There were things I still wanted. To be married with a nice house, and a husband to kiss me when he came home, a family of my own. Royce King was the most eligible bachelor in town. I barely knew him, but I was young. I was in love with the idea of love. On the last night of my life I left a friends house late. I wasn't far from home." she told me
"Rose Im so sorry" I teared up
I told her my story and she was crying
"We didn't deserve that" she hugged me

I came with Bella after she told me what happened between her and Jake
"I'm so sorry for my brother's stupidity" I said holding her hand
"I heard you weren't talking to him?" she asked looking at me sad
"he told my dad about Victoria. He wants to intervene and he could get killed. The pack promised they wouldn't tell him" I said before I saw Jake, Embry and Quil coming down the stairs
I walked over to Embry and kissed him
"Hey Quil." I said shoving him playfully
"You look beautiful princess" Embry said
"What are you doing here" bella asked
"You invited me remember" Jake replied
"was my right hook to subtle for you? That was me uninviting you." Bella said
"Look Bella i'm sorry about, you know." Jake said before I interrupted
"he means the kiss and your hand" I said
"I'd blame it on the whole inner animal thing, but it was really just me" he said
"Being an ass" I responded
"Okay that's enough from you" Embry put his hand over my mouth laughing
"I'm really sorry. I brought you something" Jake said
Bella looked at me and I nodded
"A graduation present. I made it myself" Jake replied
"wow you made this?" Bella asked
Jake nodded in response
"it's really pretty" Bella responded
I looked at Embry and asked why he didn't make me anything since I graduated off my online classes
"I did goofy" He replied
He gave me a red bracelet and I kissed him softly
"Happy graduation my love" He said
I looked over at Alice and then Bella
"I'll be right back" Bella said
"Yea me too" I said
We walked over to Alice
"what did you see?" I asked
"alice what did you see?" Bella asked
"The decisions been made" alice replied
"What's going on?" Jake asked
"What happened" Embry asked grabbing me and holding me close to him
"You're not going to seattle" Bella said
"No" Alice replied
"they're coming here" I said

We sat in a room with the Cullens. My nerves were going awol. I couldn't help but feel fear for my pack. I was scared
"They'll be here in four days" Alice said
"This could turn into a bloodbath" Carlisle said before looking at Alice
"Who's behind it?" Edward asked
"I didn't see anyone I recognized." Alice replied before looking at me
"Maybe one" She said
"I know his face. He's local. Riley Biers" Edward said
As soon as the name came out my blood ran cold. I looked at Alice in fear
"babe?" Embry said worried
"Riley's alive?" I said
"Who's Riley?" Bella asked
"He's the guy who raped Nova" Embry said
"I didn't know he was missing" I said
I couldn't stop shaking
"he didn't start this" Edward said
"whoever did is staying out of the action" Alice said
"They must be playing with the blind spots in your vision" Carlisle said
"Either way the army is coming" Jasper said
"There aren't enough of you to protect the town" I said
"Hold up. What damn army" Jake asked
"Newborns. Our kind" Carlisle said
"What are they after?" Embry asked
"They were passing around Bella's scent. A red blouse" Alice said
"They're after Bella? What the hell does this mean?" Jake said angrily
"it means an ugly fight. With lives lost" Carlisle replied
"They weren't just passing around Bella's scent. It was Novas too." Alice said
I froze with fear and teared up
"He's after me?" I said scared
Jake looked at Embry then Quil
"alright" Jake said
"We're in" Embry finished
"No." Bella said
"You could get yourselves killed" I said
"no way" Bella said
"I wasn't asking for permission" Jake said
"This involves Nova. We have no choice" Embry said
"You can't do this" I said
"Edward" Bella looked at Edward
"it means more protection for you and Nova" Edward said
"Jacob do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?" Carlisle asked
"If it involves Nova he will" Embry replied
"as long as we get to kill some vampires" Jake said
"Jasper" I looked at him
"they'll give us some numbers. The newborns won't even know they exist. That'll give us edge" Jasper said
"Please you guys can't do this" I said crying
Embry grabbed my face looking at me
"Nova you could get killed over this"
"So can you" I said with tears coming down my eyes
"I would do it for you" Embry said

Guys i'm so sorry I haven't published. I just went through a horrible breakup and was trying to get my head in a better place. I'm still somewhat dealing with it but I promise i'll try updating more. I love you guys❤️
