As Lucas slowly regained consciousness, he found himself surrounded by the concerned faces of Emily and Rose. His head throbbed with pain, and he could still feel the lingering echoes of Andi's memories swirling in his mind."Lucas, are you alright?" Emily's voice cut through the haze, her touch gentle as she tried to rouse him from his stupor.
Struggling to focus, Lucas blinked, attempting to shake off the disorientation that clouded his thoughts. He found solace in the comforting presence of Rose beside him, her hand resting reassuringly on his shoulder.
"What happened?" Lucas's voice was hoarse as he tried to piece together the fragments of his memory.
"You touched the book, and then... you passed out," Emily explained, her concern evident in her tone.
Lucas's heart raced as he tried to recall the images that had flashed before his eyes. "I saw... things, " he murmured, his words faltering.
Rose's expression softened as she leaned closer, her eyes filled with understanding. "What did you see?" she asked gently.
Before Lucas could respond, a sudden realization dawned on him. "I saw... my birth," he blurted out, the memory flooding back with startling clarity. "And Rose, you were there."
Rose's eyes widened in astonishment, her breath catching in her throat. "Your eyes," she whispered, tears welling up as she gazed at Lucas. "You have her eyes. How did I not notice it before? You're Andi's son."
At that moment, everything fell into place for Lucas. He may not have comprehended the entirety of his connection to Andi, but he knew without a doubt that his life was forever intertwined with hers, bound by a bond he was only beginning to fathom.
