After helping Mathew with his bath, I wrapped him in a warm towel, showering him with kisses as I dried him off. "Time for bed, sweetheart," I murmured, holding him close as I carried him to our bedroom.

I didn't want to share a different room from my son.

Mathew's eyes sparkled with excitement as he nestled into my arms. "Can I have a story, Mumma?"

A smile tugged at my lips as I nodded. "Of course, my darling," I replied, my heart swelling with love for my son. "But first, let's get you into your pajamas."

As I helped Mathew into his favorite pajamas, I couldn't help but marvel at how quickly he was growing. With a pang of bittersweet nostalgia.

After tucking Mathew into bed, I settled down beside him, pulling his favorite storybook from the shelf. "Once upon a time," I began, my voice soft and soothing as I launched into the familiar tale.

Mathew's eyes lit up with wonder as he listened intently, his imagination carrying him off to faraway lands filled with adventure and magic.

With each turn of the page, I told a tale of bravery and friendship, watching as Mathew's eyelids grew heavy with sleep.

As the story drew to a close, I leaned down to press a gentle kiss to his forehead. "Goodnight, my little prince," I whispered, feeling a surge of love for my son. "Sweet dreams."

"Goodnight, Mumma," he murmured, his voice soft and content as he drifted off into dreams.

I lingered for a moment, watching over him with a sense of profound gratitude before quietly slipping out of the room, leaving him to his peaceful slumber.

As I stepped outside Mathew's bedroom, to find Alpha Dominic leaning against the wall, his gaze fixed on the ground. I knew he was there considering I had smelt his allure while with Mathew. The sight of him here however, stirred something deep within me.

"Alpha Dominic," I said softly.

He turned to face me, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Freya,"

"What are you doing out here?" I asked, tilting my head inquisitively.

"I wanted to ensure you and Mathew were okay," he confessed, his gaze softening with sincerity. "I just wanted to say that you're a great mother, Freya."

"Thank you," I murmured, my voice filled with genuine appreciation.

Alpha Dominic's eyes held mine for a moment longer, and in that silent exchange, I felt a connection between us that went beyond words. With a nod, he pushed himself away from the wall, straightening up to his full height.

"Goodnight, Freya," he said softly, his voice carrying a hint of warmth and affection.

I chuckled softly at Alpha Dominic's words, shaking my head in amusement. "Oh, I'm not going to bed just yet," I replied, a mischievous glint in my eyes.

Alpha Dominic raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "And why is that?" he asked, falling into step beside me as we descended the stairs together.

I couldn't help but smile at his curiosity. "Because I have a feeling Luna Linda will try something tonight," I confessed.

Alpha Dominic chuckled at my words, his deep voice rumbling with laughter. "And how do you know that?" he asked, genuinely intrigued.

I shrugged nonchalantly, a playful twinkle in my eyes. "Luna Linda is viciously desperate," I explained, "And besides, I'm a woman, although I'm not conniving as Linda, but I do know how women think."
