The Undead Army finally made an appearance and the battle that everyone got ready for, was about to start. At first, only a part of the opposing army appeared in the soldier's field of vision and for a moment; some truly thought that was all of it.

However, more and more undead started to appear; their numbers multiplying. Visenya's speech was from the few things keeping the men in line as they just saw endless skeletons coming their way.

There was no sign of the Night King or the Undead Dragon yet but that did not mean it helped with their morale.

The first few flaming arrows were thrown from the walls, all aimed at the moats that had been placed and created. The pieces of wood stuck in them quickly caught on fire and became the first major obstacle against the undead.

The Archers on the wall got ready but waited, simply watching as the undead perished by the fire. The Unsullied not once looked away, fully disciplined and determined; protected by the fire moats.

Any undead that tried to squeeze and pass through the opening between the moats, would perish by their dragonglass spearheads. The rest of the skeletons tried to walk through the flames but were dying.

However, that part of the plan lasted for a little bit since the enemy did not die as fast. They were on flame but as more and more stacked on top of the other, an odd kind of bridge was created for the rest of the undead to pass over the flames.

The next signal was given and the terrifying war cry of 100.000 Dothraki echoed across the plains, their shouts being heard over the screeches of the undead and the howling wind that seemed to blow against them.

There was not enough time to make them dragonglass weapons but Tyrion had come up with the idea of covering their swords in oil and igniting them up.

Of course, any Dothraki that could truly shoot with an arrow; did that instead.

The flame-sword-wielding riders went first, flanking the enemy from the left and the right. Arrows passed next to them, shot by their fellow riders, as the dragon-glassed arrowheads found their targets with precision.

Thus, the army of the undead had either to continue forward and meet the shields and spears of the Unsullied or turn and try to fend off the savage men, who showed no fear and no mercy, of course.

A part of the undead either acted on their instincts or were ordered by one of the wights but they ignored the Unsullied and started to try and take down the galloping horses. The rest continued pushing through the flames on the moat, only to be met with flaming arrows from the top of the Winterfell Walls.

At the same time, the Dothraki started to retreat; spreading left and right while taking down any undead found on their way. The undead started to split and while a small force followed them, it helped our heroes as the enemy they had to deal with; had dropped already in numbers.

Grey Worm stood amongst his brothers, stabbing any undead coming too close or watching as the flaming arrows fell like rain on them. He knew the arrows would not be enough but for now kept pushing back the enemy while they all slowly took small steps towards the main gates.

The undead used their sheer numbers, falling on them like a wave. Even though there was air support from the archers and the moats kept being some kind of obstacle, it was still not enough.

There were that many archers and the undead simply surpassed them by far.

Yet, the Unsullied remained strong, standing their ground and slowly retreating but not without taking down any undead they could.

Help seemed to come at last as the Right and Left platoons finally charged, now that the enemy had gathered in tighter clusters. On horseback and foot, soldiers let out a war cry as they charged.
