Keshav Datar was sitting with Sayli, and there was an awkward silence in the air.

Narmada broke the heavy silence as she asked Sayli, "Tarini told us you have a very big Ganpati celebration in your village home. How was your festival?"

(Tarini told us you have a very big Ganpati celebration at your village home. How was your festival?)

"Bohot accha tha..." Sayli smiled back politely "Gauri, Ganpati har saal 5 din sabhi parivar ke log gao ke ghar mein kamse kam 1-2 din ke liye toh aate hi hai varna kaha kisi ko apne busy schedule mein waqt milta hai..." Sayli added the extra information unnecessarily just to fill the stretched silence.

(It was very good) (Each year, we have a 5-day celebration of Gauri and Ganpati. Due to this occasion, everyone in our family visits our village home for at least one or two days. Otherwise, nowadays, everyone has a busy schedule.)

"Ji, bilkul sahi kaha aapne," agreed Narmada.

(Yes, you are absolutely right.)

"Vaise, Vara nahi ayi aapke saath?" Narmada asked tentatively.

(Vara didn't come with you?)

This time, it was Keshav Datar who stoically answered instead of Sayli, "Nahi."
(No)

"Keshav ji" Girish began "Actually apko yaha pe aise achanak bulane ki vajah Vara hi hai...Hume baas abhi ek hafte pehle hi pata chala ki humare ghare mein ek misunderstanding ke chalte kya hua..."

(Mr. Keshav,) (the reason we called you here so suddenly is because of Vara. Just a week back, we got to know what took place at our house.)

Keshav was surprised by the sudden shift in the topic nonetheless he appreciated the same. A week ago, they returned, and the very next day, Tarini's father-in-law requested a meeting. Not ready to set foot in a place where his daughter was insulted, Keshav pushed the meeting for a week. But now it was Sunday, and as Sayli pointed out, he couldn't give any more reasons. After all, it is the home of his other daughter...

"Jo hua voh bura hua, par hum aapko batana chahte hai ki vo ek misunderstanding thi..." Girish explained exactly what happened. "aap toh samajh hi sakte hai... Itani badi security hai aise mein kabhi kabhi aisi galati ho jati hai. Apko bura laga hoga iss baat ka hum samajh sakte hai. Hum kabhi bhi Vara ya aap ke parivar ki disrespect nahi na karna chahte the. Hum aasha karte hai ki isse bhul ke hum aage badh sake..."

(Whatever happened, it was bad, but I want to tell you it was all a misunderstanding...) (You can understand, while arranging such big security, there are bound to be a few mistakes sometimes. You must have felt bad, I can understand. We never wanted to disrespect Vara or your family. I hope we can forget this incident and move forward.)

Keshav slowly nodded his head. Well, this was unexpected. He never thought that, despite being from such a wealthy and powerful family, any of them could be so down to earth. Though Vara had mentioned him once or twice that Girish and Narmada were the most down to earth people, and Tarini is lucky to have them as in-laws...

Everyone from Tarini's family was sitting there except Indrajeet and Dhruv.

"Girish ji, sach kahe toh hum kafi naraj the jab Vara ne hume bataya. Aur ye bohot accha hua ki aap ne sari baten clear kar di. hum samajh sakte hai... Dhanyawad..."

(Mr Girish, truth be told, we were very upset when Vara told us... It's very good that you cleared the misunderstanding. I can understand. Thank you.)
