"Can we go see Papa and Bhai?" I asked immediately.

She raised her eyebrows, "You wanna go to the office?"

I bobbed my head, "Yes Mama."

"Okay, let's go," she spoke with a smile.

We were now standing outside my father's cabin. I knocked lightly, hearing him say 'come in', pretty harshly.

He never talked that way. Is he angry?

I looked at my mother hesitantly. She just blinked her eyes in assurance and entered the office, taking my hand in hers.

"Here Adhiraj," my mother mocked, making my father look up.

I couldn't deny that my father was very soft with her and me too.

He smiled softly at me, "Hello babygirl."

I smiled shyly at his greeting, "Hi Papa."

His eyes twinkled, "Come sit," he spoke, standing from his chair and making me sit on the couch by keeping his hand on my shoulder.

"You forgot me," my mother clutched her chest dramatically.

My father rolled his eyes playfully, "You can sit too."

With an 'ouch' from her side, she sat down beside me.

"What does my princess want to eat," he asked me with a smile.

"Chocolate truffle cake," I replied.

The last time I had it here, I fell in love with it.

He nodded, "Right. And a cake for you too as always, m'lady?"

My mother grinned sheepishly, "Yeah."

Guess where my sweet tooth comes from?

I knew it!

Because father hates sweets with a passion.

He loves spicy food!

A few minutes later, a man entered the cabin and placed two plates of cake in front of me. He was glancing at my mother from time to time, making me widen my eyes.

"Hey! Don't look," I frowned at him.

He snapped his head towards me, glaring furiously. I glared right back, unflinchingly.

"What? She's my mother!" I deadpanned.

"You--"

"Shut up! Get out," my father gritted angrily.

The man scurried out, and both my father and me looked at our mother who was looking at us amusingly.

"What?" Papa snapped.

"So protective you both are," she chuckled.

"Mama, he was staring at you," I frowned again.
