"Come on, Vaesella!" Mace Windu persisted, circling me like a shark as he watched me train with one of the other more experienced Jedi knights, "Form 1, get to it!" He yelled, watching intently as I parry and side step saber swings with ease, "These are the basics, Miss Nanite!"

I grunted as I rolled across the ground, warding off any attacks in my back using my senses, hoping the force would guide me. For the most part they did, though I did have a few close calls with my pinkie. I swing my blazing blade at the man's legs, watching as he jumped into the air. Taking this opportunity, I lift my hand and tighten it into a fist, pulling it down towards my hip.

"Ah! No force today!" Windu ordered, barking out and whistling at me. As if I were a dog who had done the wrong trick. I huffed and blew a strand of curly blonde hair out of my face, "We're doing form 1! Fundamentals only!"

I wanted to growl under my breath but I obeyed. Even if I disagreed, he was running my training session. Not me. At least not today.

"Yes----master----!" I said, grunting between each word as I attempted to strike. Violently, as if I were a praying mantis, thrusting my blade forward.

"No...No! No thrusting your blade, Vaesella!" Windu snapped, "You hold it high, like this!" Mace raised his lightsaber in front of him, arm extended up, "You keep it high! Not low!"

I watched his form carefully as my chest heaved from the sudden activity. A long, exhausted sigh escaped my lips as I realized how much energy I wasn't used to expending.

"Let me see that stance!" Windu shouted, "Stand straighter! Your arm needs to extend more!"

I obeyed his command and focused intently on my stance, watching myself closely. I kept my arms raised and my balance well centered. I took a deep breath, calming my nerves.

"Better...now take a few steps back." Windu commanded, watching me as I stepped away. I watched him more carefully now, trying my best to mimic what he did.

"Keep stepping." He snapped again, "I want to see your footwork."

I keep backing up, fencing off the mountain sized threat barreling after me. He attacked swiftly for a big guy, his speed seeming to be what was causing the most trouble for me. As soon as I was moving back, he was stomping towards me.

Windu sucked his teeth at me, "Vaesella, I better not see you trip!" He said, watching as I stumbled slightly from walking backwards and also defending myself from attacks.

I felt my eyes grow wide as I tried to keep up. My legs were growing tired quickly, my muscles aching all the more with each step. I did my best to keep my footing while avoiding his attacks.

"Good!" Windu grunted, "Back up more! The force is your guide, prove it!"

I obeyed without question, pushing my limit as he watched me with a sharp eye.

"That's it!" he shouted, pointing a finger at me when I was about ten feet away from him, "Look at you! You listen to me once and a while and heyyy you're not failing." The man criticized, scrutinizing everything I did and picking it apart like a sea-fairing unchin.

I wanted to snap back some kind of snarky comment, but I knew better than to talk back to a Jedi Master. Especially one as strict as my Mace Windu.

"You could at least give me some encouragement or compliment my progress," I muttered, trying to hide my irritation with a fake smile.

"Encouragement, how's this for encouragement." He said, clearing his throat, "Learn fast or die. You live, or you die!"

I felt my lips thinning into a thin line, my mouth twisting as it was a struggle to keep my anger in check. "I don't see you helping by just pointing out my mistakes." I shot back, looking away from him, trying my best to keep my composure, "Live or die!" I said with a grit of my teeth.
