Week thirty-seven : to April 1 to April 7

Noah looks at me without a murmur which is only his own.

- What happens to you ? I say.
- Nothing, absolutely nothing.
- You look at me as if I was the most beautiful woman you have seen.
- I have only seen a few women but it is true that you are the most beautiful.
- You're going to make me blush.

Aurore starts to cry. Noah disappears to see if she is okay.

It should have been my job. Is it really a job to be a mother ?

I put the freshly harvested vegetables in the fridge. A ridiculous little bloodstain is on my kitchen towel.

- Are you going to haunt us now, Adam ?
- What are you talking about ? Adam left just ten days ago.
- He hasn't left...
- Spit it out.
- I killed him.
- What ? he said, frowning in incomprehension.
- It had become cumbersome.

I cut the conversation short and lock myself in the bedroom.

I look at Aurore sleep peacefully in her cradle.

- You're lucky to be so little.
