EXO appeared on stage as twelve members. With Luhan noticably absent, other members filled his place. While it was very anticipated appearance, the members themselves haven't been the happiest. Each of the members have been grieving in their own way with Sehun and Eric taking the hardest.
With Luhan's departure coming after Jessica's, questions regarding SM's management came into question. Luhan's situation was eerily similar to Hangeng years ago. Since then Hsingche has withdrew himself from public appearance, only focusing the performance in question.
Despite rivals groups like BTS, and Infinite giving a better show, EXO still pulled it with consistency. They started with a flashy introduction of the members appearing one by one. Kai, Tao, and Lay did a dubstep dance battle before they performed one of b sides. The audience went hyped and IU was seen singing along to Overdose. Eric was too caught up on his sadness to notice everyone applauding. D.O sang a duet with Hsingche.

The awards ceremony ended with EXO. The twelve boys got up and immediately accepted the awards. Suho, leader of EXO gave his speech.
"It's an honor here to win this award. We're grateful for the fans continuing to support us. We all worked hard to make this comeback. I still consider it one of my personal favorite songs of the year." Suho said before Lay took the mic.
"Xie xie for your constant support Exols. 2014 has been a fantastic year for us as a group. We held our own first tour and got visit many cities! Overdose has been my favorite track to dance to and our fandom grown exponentially. We will always remain EXO!" Lay said in Chinese. He then handed over it to Hsingche. In a panic he coughed before clearing his throat.
He really did not want to speak, but felt like he had a responsibility. He spoke in English for international fans.
"I don't know where to begin. This year has been crazy to say the least. We went through significant trials as a group, but in the end I say we're thriving. Thank you American and European fans for sticking up with us. We've grown a lot this year and we hope to continue thriving. I also want to thank Chinese Exols for supporting my solo debut. I'm happy you all like my music. Please support me in the future." Eric switched to Chinese for his solo fans.
