While EXO-K was busy promoting in Korea, EXO-M continued to perform in China and Taiwan. They sang the Chinese renditions of Wolf and Growl with great success. The Chou Brothers began to become a major force in Taiwan. Everytime they would perform there, they were met with millions of fans. The two have become the first Taiwanese idols to ever debut.
Lee Sooman saw great potential in the Chinese market so he struck a deal with a Taiwanese label to help manage the EXO-M Spexial subunit. This unit was exclusively made of the Chinese line for the Chinese market. Due to it, Chen and Xiumin promoted more with their Korean counterparts on some occasions.
The Chinese line debuted in their first drama: KO One Return, a sequel to original series previously starred by Taiwanese sensation: Fahrenheit.
The five boys played as highschool students. Most of original screen time was played by Alex and Lay. Alex a troubled delinquent, and Lay a aspiring actor. Eric cameod as the new transfer student. The boys used their superpowers similar to their EXO counterparts.
In KO One Re-Act Eric played a more prominent role as the only English speaker in the drama. He befriends Luhan's character, a shy nerd who struggles with confidence and the two fight off other rivals. Tao's character was noticably ruthless as he used his Wushu skills in practice. He almost knocked out a few of the actors on several occasions.
Making a special cameo is Henry Lau who plays a university student who reunits with Jiro's character. Victoria appears as one of the strict teachers with unsual strength to which she used to discipline her students. Cheng Xiao got her gig as Eric's adoptive sister. She wasn't a fighter by any means, but her natural aegyo for the movie certainly won the hearts of viewers.
Exo-M Spexial sang the music for the drama which is Fight was used as one of their theme songs. Eric had to admit, he did enjoy acting out. He could tell Luhan and Lay enjoyed it a lot.
