(y/N) is a Japanese survivor of that. 🥺 I am just using Google Translate for little phrases so if they're wrong please let me know! Part 1/3! Gonna break it down into sections so it's not ungodly long! 😂 Trigger warning due to mentions of PTSD and flashback warnings for this chapter!

"Hey, what's the worst thing you guys have ever been through?" Soap asked everyone, kicking back on the couch in the common room. You raise your eyebrow.

"Ittaizentai? Shinken ni?" What on earth? Seriously? You can't help but to roll your eyes with a smile.

"What? We usually swap war stories to relax." You can't help but to give Soap a small smile, shaking your head at the same time.

"You guys have a funny way of relaxing." You retort, placing your chin in your hand, eyeing him.

"Listen, Kumamon, you gave yourself your own call sign. I don't think you get to judge." Soap laughs, nudging your boot with his own as your sitting across from him on the other couch.

"Kumamon is cute! And it keeps people like you from naming me something stupid. Like, Ramen. Or PAC-MAN." You tease him, rolling your eyes. Soap tries not to laugh but when you give him a look that tells him to shut up he cackles loudly.

"Pac-Man would be so good though!" He booms another laugh, Price smacking him on the back of the head as he walks by to go to the coffee pot. You can't help but hoot, covering your mouth when Captain Price looks at you in warning, pointing the newspaper at you. Soap pouts, rubbing the back of his head.

"PAC-MAN would be the only acceptable callsign." You whisper to Soap, making him laugh again so that he earns another warning glare from Price for being too loud this early in the morning. Soap glare playfully at you.

"So," Gaz starts as he sits down next to you. "I'm actually curious though. What's the scariest thing you've been through? Military or not." His brown eyes move to yours and you shrug.

"It's not something I like to talk about." You mumble, fumbling with your dog tags absentmindedly. Gaz nods in understanding.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up any suppressed emotions, lass." Soap offers, frowning as he watches you. But you're already disassociating, your breathing has slowed.

"It's fine." You mutter, trying to suppress the memory but it always takes your breath away. Your heart feels like it's going to beat out of your chest, your pupils are dilated, eyes wide with fear. The jingle of the dogs tags it the only thing you hear as everything else fades.

"Fuck. Suppress it, (Y/N)." Someone touching your knee makes your jerk back to reality. You smack their hand away, breathing rapid now, eyes unfocused and jumping all over the place.

"Hey, (Y/N). Look at me." Your sloppy gaze somehow manages to find Soap's comforting blue eyes. He cups your face. "Look. At. Me." His voice is firm without any hint of aggression. "Match my breath, (Y/N). In... Out..." He nods, smiling. Price watches attentively from across the room.

"Good, good. Again. In... Out... In... Out..." He wipes the tear rolling down your cheek with his thumb as you calm down enough to take in the situation and silence around you. Ghost isn't looking at you, so he can respect your vulnerability. Price is drinking his coffee but has his worried PeePaw face on, a deep frown etched onto handsome face, and Gaz looks guilty like it was his fault. Soap shifts a little, making you grab his hand tighter, eyes widening even more. Your heart is pounding in your chest.

"M'sorry." His voice is so quiet it's almost hard to understand him because of his Scottish accent. He's on one knee, accidentally bumping into yours when he shifts his weight. "You coming back to me?" He asks softly, eyes scanning your face for any sign that you're retreating back into yourself.

"Yes." You let out a deep breath, not understanding what really happened. "I'm sorry." You tell all of them as Soap moves back to his spot next to Ghost on the couch. They all shake their heads and Ghost crosses his arms.

"Nothing to be sorry for." Price says, drinking his fresh cup of coffee. "Sometimes it catches you unaware." He walks by, giving your shoulder a gentle squeeze. He was the only one to know what happened to you.

"Thanks Captain." You put your head down, still embarrassed but feeling better because they all know the feeling. Price gives a soft grin before leaving again.

"I think I'm gonna head to the showers." You say, rising from your spot. "It was a long mission and I'd like to take another shower before crawling into bed." You stretch before waving at everyone and heading out of the common room. Soap watches you leave with a frown.

"She probably shouldn't be left alone." Ghost points out to Soap, looking at him. Soap nods.

"Just respecting the privacy. Not like I can join her in tha'shower." He laughs softly and Ghost ponders it.

"Well..."

"No, Ghost." Gaz and Soap say in union as let's out a deep chuckle. He just shrugs, knowing it made the two of them feel a little better. Ghost just chuckles, going back to his magazine.
