Chapter Twenty-One : Dynamite

After spending their time a the festival, Reze leads Denji to a special place, a place where no one arguing nor noises, just mother nature surrounded them, with a beauty displaying to their eyes.

"The old man who runs the cafe, told me about this place. It's a secret spot where no one ever comes, but it's got the best view of the fireworks" Reze stated, they currently on a hill, towering all the buildings in the distance below them. Denji approach the handrail before leans against it, he stares at the lights emitting from the towns, enjoying the view.

"Hey Denji" Reze called, the first one who broke the silence between them "Yeah?" Denji responded, turning to her "I thought about it a lot but, The situation you and your little brother right now is really strange" Reze commented.

"You're just 16, and your little brother is 15. This public safety agency, isn't letting both of you go to school and they are forcing the two of you fight to death with devils" Reze explained.

"That isn't something a country should be allowing to happen" Reze remarked. Denji tried to respond but his mouth were sealed shut after Reze take his hand and placed in between hers. 

"Why don't you quit, and run away with me?" Reze suggested, peering towards Denji eyes with such compassion "I'll make you happy"  Reze assured, Denji only stared back, his eyes slowly expanded at her confession.

"I'll protect you, all your life" Reze stated "Please.." She pleaded in a soft and sweet voice, sounding more like pleading child than anything.

"Run.. far away.. Like where?" Denji asked, tiny sweats began to form on his face.

"If I ask someone I know, We can go somewhere the public safety will never find you" Reze responded "If it's there, Maybe not right now, but someday we'll able to go to school together" Reze explained.

"Why all of a sudden..?" Denji questioned "Because I.. I like you Denji" Reze confessed her true feelings to him. Denji's eyes widened as he heard her confession; he hadn't expected her to like him. Maybe (Y/n) was right about her being Denji's crush all along.

Denji dropped his gaze, his eyelids clenched shut as his lips tightened and perspiration poured down his cheeks. Reze noticed the expression on Denji's face and a small frown crept across her lips "Why are you so bothered by that? Do you not like me?" Reze questioned.

"No! I do like you!" Denji answered immediately with a brief yell "But.." Denji trailed off.

"Recently I've been acknowledged at work .. and I can move around more without being monitored now too. I'm gradually learning how to handle my buddy's shitty personality. And I'm finally starting to get along a bit better with the guy who was always such an jerk" Denji explained as Reze looked into his eyes.

"Not to mention.. I'll never forget what I promised my younger brother. I promise to give him normal life, and I want him to stay by my side. Since our parents died, he is the only brother I have left. I can't just abandon him like that!" Denji explained as his brows are furrowed, and s sweating.

"Listen.. I.. have to stay with my little brother. In the meantime, let's just.. hang out like we always do.." Denji told her. Reze went quiet, she slowly gaze to the right, processing what Denji had told her.

"I see.. I get it" Reze muttered, before gazing back towards Denji.

"Denji.. That promise is a contract between you and him, right?" Reze questioned. Denji's eyes slowly expanded after he heard that from her "Huh..?" Denji muttered, absolutely bewildered.

A trail of single firework shoots high towards the sky..

Before exploding.

At that moment, Reze went closer to Denji and pulled him into a kiss.
