As cowardly as it may sound, he stormed out of the house the moment he made sure that Cin was taken care of by his trusted friend doctor that's luckily stationed in Cerro Roca.

Langdon had long given up hope of seeing in the darkness. There's no light at the end of the tunnel.

But then Cin returned and for a fraction of a millisecond, that hope had been restored. For days, his spirit was high. He now began looking forward again to coming home excited to see Cin in a pensive mood, alive, and back in his care that he almost forgot who killed the light of his own life.

"I think I've never done anything good in my lifetime."

He sat on the edge of the cliff and looked down at the serene ocean below.

Why isn't the wind wild tonight?

It takes only one jump, one trip on the tip of the rock to end it all. Sana. He hopes so.

Staring hard at his calloused incomplete fingers, he whimpered silently.

Would his path be different if he had chosen the other road?

Would he have lived up to his potential as the most promising Asturian ever if he had gone abroad instead of staying?

Wala sana siyang nasaktan. Cas wouldn't be killed by her own family. She would not lose their baby.

Cin would not be suffering right now.

People could break. People could quit. People could kill themselves.

Dahan-dahan siyang tumayo at walang takot na dumungaw sa karagatan.

Would it be better to end this just like what his father did?

Tumingala siya sa kalangitan at nagsimulang tumangis.

"My heart is treacherous! I'm a sinner! I couldn't protect anyone other than my sick self!" "I'm worthless! A murderer! I don't deserve any of this! Take it from me! All of it!"

Smiling bitterly, Langdon surrendered his future by jumping right into the raging flow of water.

"Langdon!"

He shut off his ears to prevent hearing the voice inside his head.

Instead, he concentrated on the feeling of sinking, of the shortness of breath.

Except he didn't feel any fear. Cin on the other hand must have felt all the shades of fear for her life, for their baby, and for the family she left behind.

God, this is awful! How could he let her experience this? How could he pull that trigger?
