NUMBNESS, PAIN, ANXIETY, ANGER. That was the first set of feelings that filled AZ when she witnessed the covering of her parents as the police dragged their lifeless bodies out the house. She was stiff, wide eyed as she was barely listening to the chief of police. Who was trying to talk her through softly. But what could she say. Her parents had been killed, when she walked downstairs all she could see was a whip of the suspect before they made their escape, she hid before they could notice her. But it wasn't going to bring back the two people who brought her into this world.

Numb. As she stared at the police officer trying to reassure her.

"We are going to take you to the hospital." Her voice was gentle. "We got your Aunt and Uncle on the phone, they are already on their way." With that AZ had flinched when the officer put her hand slightly on her shoulder. The women seemed to have gotten the hint when she backed off a bit, but still stayed close by her side.

AZ walked, not even making a second glance at the covered bodies being hauled into the ambulance truck. She made her way quietly inside the back of the police car.  Her face blank. Ignoring the police officers question of "Are you doing alright back there." Silence as she faced forward no hint of words.

But a tear drop decided to  pick that perfect moment to slip down her eye.

Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet.

Let it not be a death but completeness.
Let love melt into memory and pain into songs.
Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings over the nest.
Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night.
Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your last words in silence.
I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way
