Solitary Melancholy
Christine Summer
Knock on my door and take me away,
In a beautiful place from faraway,
Hear me sing night and day,
Lullabies that tells that I wanted you to stay.
Tonight I’ll sleep with a heavy heart,
For a thousand and a mile apart,
I know that I’m not that smart,
But I counted every day right from the start.
Day by day I hear your voice,
A melody echoed by the waves,
Singing a melancholic song of solitude,
It’s just my heart missing you.
The pitter-patter of the rain,
Distracts me momentarily from the pain,
As the moon caught in its wane,
My mind is in complicated sane.
The song I used to sing to you,
It resonates with every hue,
Of the sky, oh so blue,
I wished it wasn’t so true.
The sun is shining so brightly,
It touches my skin so warmly,
But inside it’s cold and wary,
I don’t want anything but you, baby.
I missed you, I’m missing you,
Please tell me that you feel the same way too,
For in my heart there is no one but you,
My love, I needed no one but you.
I hope the wind carries my song,
To my dear, I wait for so long,
I hope it wasn’t so wrong,
To wish it was me where you belong.

How hard was it to hope for that one person you liked the most, but belonged to someone else?
Christine.
