Thaddeus Valentine 2

(To improve your family's station in life, your father has arranged a marriage for you with a wealthy older man, but you don't want any part of it. Until you meet him that is.)

"You cant make me marry him"I said to my father,I have just learnt from my dad that because he wishes to improve our family's situation in life,he has set up an arranged marriage for me to some older rich guy
"You will do as you are told Y/n,I am your father"my dad said back
"Mum tell dad he can't do this"I plead to my mother,she looks from her husband to her daughter and says
"Y/n I know you don't want this,but think of what it will mean for us socially"
"Why do you need some rich guys money,dad makes enough as it is"I say annoyed.

"We need this extra boost to not only our situation in life but to make sure you will be well funded...er well taken care of" Mum said
"Is that all you think about money"I say glaring at her"What about me,I want to marry someone I love not some stranger?"
"But daughter you do know this man. Okay not personally but everyone knows of Thaddeus Valentine"Dad said
"So that's who's money you want"I say
"Well think of it this way,since he already has a young daughter you won't need to give him one"Mum said.

"I'm not marrying him"I say going to leave the room
"You have no say in the matter,it is all arranged already"Dad said"Now go and get ready Mr Valentine will be here soon" and with that the discussion is over. I leave the room and head upstairs to my room
"Why should I be forced into something against my wishes"I think"its not like I'm going to like this guy." I know my mum will want me to dress nicely to meet my so called future husband,but I'm not going to. If they want me to play my part in this then I will do it my way.

A couple of hours passed and I heard the arrival of the rich guy my parents are forcing me onto. I won't forgive them for this,then again I could always go threw with this meeting and then run away and find some place else to live. Where I can live my life my way,and one day marry a man of my choice who I love.
"Y/n dearest come down and meet Mr Valentine will you" my mum called up the stairs with fake sweetness. I headed downstairs ready to play fake nice with Mr Rich.

I walk into the living room and saw my father talking to the walking bank
"Ah here she is" dad said upon seeing me"Y/n allow me to introduce Mr Thaddeus Valentine" the man turned to me and he isn't anything like I had imagined him to be. Thaddeus is taller than my dad,his dark green coat hung perfectly from his broad shoulders. His dark brown hair is slightly greying at the sides,yet it some how suited him. His eyes are a beautiful shade of blue and ontop of that he is incredibly handsome.

"Miss L/n I am delighted to finally meet you" Thaddeus said walking over to me,his deep voice sent a shiver down my spine
"Likewise"I said, instead of shaking my hand Thaddeus lent down and kissed my cheek, making my face turn bright red
"Shall we go into dinner?"my mother said having watched the interaction between me and Valantine. My dad nodded in agreement and the four of us made our way into the dinning room to sit down to eat.'Maybe this won't be so bad after all' I think.

After dinner is over I decided to take a walk outside and leave my parents to sweet talk Valentine. I'm still undecided on what to do,I could run away and start a new life else where or I could stay and marry this guy to make my parents more money and a better social position.
"I get the feeling you aren't happy about this?" The voice of Thaddeus said from behind me
"You can say that again"I say sitting down on the steps, Thaddeus comes and sits down beside me
"Can I ask why?" Thaddeus asks
"Try to look at it from my point of view,that your parents have arranged for you to marry a rich stranger,just because they want to better there life"I say.

"That's not what (father's name) told me"Thaddeus admitted
"Really?"I say looking at him"I thought you where in on this as well."
"Well yes and no"Thaddeus said"I am in on this because I wanted meet you"
"But why?"I ask confused
"Your father spoke of you often and you have always intrigued me,I hadn't actually expected him to offer you up as a bride though" Thaddeus told me
"So you don't want to marry me then?" I ask,I could see that Thaddeus is thinking carefully how to answer this.
"It did cross my mind several times when your father spoke of you,to offer a marriage of convince"Thaddeus said.

"Why a marriage of convince?" I asked
"To give you freedom away from your money grabbing parents"Thaddeus said
"I want to one day marry someone I love"I say
"And you can do so,if you agree to marry me for a time. You can move to London with me,I can give your parents the money they crave and in time you can be free to marry anyone you chose" Thaddeus explained, he made some good points. If I do what my parents want and then leave they won't really care if they don't see me again for they will have the money they want.

"Ok Valentine you've got yourself a deal"I say. A month and a half later the two of us got married and I moved to London. Thaddeus paid my parents a large sum of money and I didn't hear from them again. Five years later and my life in London is amazing,the only thing I hadn't counted on is falling in love with my husband of convince. I'm sat at home thinking of what to do,I know Thaddeus will be home soon and his lawyer has sent the divorce papers here. The paperwork sat in front of me on the table. As I sat thinking the front door opened and I knew Thaddeus is home.

He came into the living room
"Is that the papers?" He asked
"Yeah that's them" I say standing up and going to leave the room
"What's wrong Y/n,I'd thought you would be happy?" Thaddeus asked me as he stopped me from leaving the room
"I...it's nothing forget it...I'll sing the paper later if you want me to"I say
"What do you mean 'if I want you to sing"? Thaddeus asks looking down at me,his blue eyes looking into my own E/c ones
"I don't wish to sing the paper as...I have...falleninlovewithyou"I say hurrdly.

"I see that does change things" Thaddeus said
"You understood what I said?"I ask him
"Yes you said that you have fallen in love with me" Thaddeus said "Not that there is anything thing wrong with loving your own husband"
"That wasn't what we agreed on"I say
"You can control who you fall in love with,even in a marriage of convince"Thaddeus said
"Yes but..."
"There is no but to it,you love me you love. We don't have to get divorced"Thaddeus said
"I don't wish to be in a one sided marriage"I say
"If you would let me finish,I also am in love with you. I have been for the past three years" Thaddeus admits.

"You never told me"I say
"I wanted you to have the life you wanted,and you made it clear you wanted to marry someone you love" Thaddeus said
"But I'm married to you and I want it to stay that way" I said
"Then we shall stay that way. In the end you and your parents both got what you wanted."
