Elrond.

A/n set after the return of the king,just without the undying lands bit.

No ones' P.o.v

It had not long ago occurred to Arwen that there is something different about her father Elrond,but she couldn't quiet work out what it is. It wasn't a negative change in him far from it,but it still made Arwen think. She brought up the subject to her husband Aragron one evening over dinner. The two of them had sat down to dinner with there son Eldarion,Elrond had other things to do so wasn't there.

"Have you noticed anything different about my father recently?" Arwen asked her king
"Now that you mention it,he certainly does seem a lot happier,less moody" Aragorn said
"Moody,who said my dad was moody?" Arwen asked
"Y/n of course" Aragorn said
"Thought so" Arwen says"But what could be making my dad happier?"

"I know" Eldarion said happily,his parents both looked at him
"You do?" Aragorn asked his son
"Sure do,but its a secret" Eldarion said"So I can't tell"
"Eldarion we are your parents, you can't have secrets from us" Arwen told him
"But grandad made me promise" Eldarion says
"He did" Arwen and Aragorn both say.

"Yep,but I can show you" Eldarion said
"If Elrond said you couldn't tell us then you can't break a promise" Aragorn told his son
"Yes but he never said I couldn't show" Eldarion says
"You have spent far to much time with Y/n" Arwen says
"I like Y/n she is a fun elf,not like the others" Eldarion says"There like how grandad was before, surly and moody"

"Y/n is really a bad influence on our son" Aragorn says
"Indeed" Arwen agreed "Show us what makes your grandad so happy" Arwen says to her son
"Arwen no,that's his business" Aragorn says to his wife
"Aren't you just a tiny bit curious?" Arwen says
"I am but..." Aragorn begins
"That's settled it then" Arwen says. Once the family had finished eating, young Eldarion lead his parents to where he knew his granddad would be.

He lead them out of the building and down towards the water.
"Grandad says he chooses this time of day as no one is really around" Eldarion explained
"That explained a lot" Arwen says,as the three of them got closer to the water they slowed down as they could hear voices and one of them is Elrond.
"Arwen let's leave Elrond to it" Aragorn says.

But his wife didn't listen and moved closer to the bushes, on the other side beside the water she could see her father clearly and he is talking to someone, but she couldn't see who. Until the person spoke
"I can do better than you" Arwen recognized the voice of her friend Y/n ,at that moment Aragorn and Eldarion joined Arwen and the three of them watched.

Y/n's P.O.V

"I can do better than you" I say confident
"I doubt that" Elrond says
"I will prove it"I say, I pick up one of the smooth stones and prepare to make it skim on the water. I throw the stone only it goes to far and I accidentally hit Lindir on the head as he walked past some distance away. At my missed aimed throw,the elf lord stood to the side of me burst out laughing.

"What is funny?" I ask turning to face Elrond
"You of course" Elrond says in between laughing
"If you can do better, then prove it" I tell the laughing elf
"I know I can do better" Elrond says,with stone in hand he steps closer to the waters edge and prepares to throw. Only he didn't notice as I moved behind him and elbowed him in the back and causing him to slip into the water.

Luckily for Elrond he managed to stay on his feet and the water he is stood in coved the bottom half of his boots.
"You pushed me" Elrond says
"A respectable elf like me,how dare you suggest such a thing" I say grinning
"You are the biggest trouble maker I know" Elrond says
"I assure you my good elf,I am no trouble maker" I say offering my hand to help him out of the water.

Elrond takes the offered hand and I pull him out of the water,only for Elrond to then push me into the water my self. As I was unprepared for that I almost fell over in the water but kept my balance and stayed on my feet
"You cheeky elf" I say
"What are you talking about dear Y/n,I didn't do anything" Elrond says,using my own innocent routine against me.

"You're lucky your cute,or you would be in big trouble" I tell the elf lord
"I doubt it" Elrond says, he helps me back out of the water and holds me close to him.

Elrond's P.O.V

I look down at the beautiful elf in my arms,her E/c eyes shine with mischief and happiness in the later summer sun
"See something you like my lord?" Y/n says,I hadn't realized I had been staring at her
"I..." I couldn't think of what to say
"Are you going to kiss me sometime soon?" Y/n asks, she certainly has more confidence than I do right now.

"Perhaps I should just kiss you" Y/n says, looking into her eyes I couldn't speak. Y/n leans in closer to me and I move closer to her,before we could kiss though a voice interrupts us
"Y/n are you out here?" The voice of the Mirkwood Prince Legolas called.
"Damn you Legolas" I say quietly
"I think this will have to wait" Y/n says"He sounds close by" I reluctantly let her go,she kisses me on the cheek and turns and heads towards where Legolas was looking for her.

After Y/n had gone I headed back inside, I have been walking for a few moments when I noticed Lindir was walking beside me
"Are you alright my lord?" He asks me
"Perfectly happy" I tell him
"The lady Arwen is waiting for you" Lindir adds
"That's nice" I say not really paying attention. I arrived in my study and see Arwen is their with Aragorn.
