Chapter 31

"Why would you do that" Sophia whined, again "you're so mean"

"Being my girlfriend has nothing to do with the game" Jeffrey chuckled

"Doesn't mean you had to kill one of my men" she mutters

"Courtney can you please tell your friend to stop whining?" Jeffrey asked

"Stop whining" I unconsciously said to Sophia, but It almost came out as a whisper

They both stopped their board game and looked at me

"Are you alright Boo?" Sophia asked with a concerned look

I nodded

"You've been like this since you got back from the shop, did something happen?" Jeff asked

I shook my head

"Are you sure?"

I nodded again

"Come play with us" Sophia tapped beside her

"I'm good" I declined and I stood up from the couch "I'll be inside"

I walked to my room and closed the door behind me

I fell flat on my bed and heaved a sigh. I closed my eyes and everytime i did, all I could see was Eric. It was either I saw everything that happened today or I just see him

I'm losing it

I folded myself into a ball and laid down  on my side, trying to get every thought out of my mind but the door was slowly pushed open

"Courtney" I heard Sophia call out softly

I opened my eyes and looked at her

"Are you sure you're alright" she asked still standing by the door

"Yeah I'm fine" I sighed "just really tired"

"You want something to eat?" I nod slowly and she smiled

"I'll go make you something" she closed the door again

I sit up and run my fingers through my hair, I couldn't even lie or deny the fact that I felt something for him

It was pretty obvious and I already knew my heart pace didn't pick up because I was scared, but for some reason I don't know why I felt afraid, like something about this made me so afraid

But i couldn't make out what it was

Again how is this possible? Eric Martinez has a lot of distinguished, elegant and all around classy women around him

What in God's name happened?

His confession made everything clear but the only problem was that, I don't know exactly when he started....well you know

I take off my glasses and pinch my nose bridge

I checked the time on my phone and it was 7:08. I'm definitely going to bed after eating so better just take my bath

That should at least take my mind off things

The next day came so fast and I hadn't gotten enough sleep yet but I had to get up eventually

Wait...

I picked my phone and looked at today's date

It's a Sunday

Oh thank God, I don't have to go to work

I turned my head to the other said while I laid flat with my chest on my bed

I opened my eyes a bit and found Sophia's spot empty

Where'd she go

I was just about to yell her name when  I remembered that Jeff slept over last night and she stayed with him in the guest room

Young love

I repositioned myself properly and before anything else, I fell asleep

.......

I woke up again and this time when I opened my eyes, everywhere seemed brighter than before. I turned my head and picked up my phone from the nightstand

9:45

I groan as I pushed myself up. I let out a small yawn before getting out of bed

God I'm so tired

I walk to the bathroom to wash my face before drying it and putting on my glasses.

I walked out the room and immediately an expensive smell flew into my nostrils

Sophia walked out the kitchen

"Hey you" she smiled

"Hey, was someone here?"

"Um yeah yeah, it was...." I raised a finger at her and she stopped

I walked towards the couch area. I was really starting to act like a police dog

Wait....

"Was Eric here?" I suddenly asked

Or was i just losing it

Wai a minute....do not tell me I just recognized the smell of his cologne

Sophia looked at me with widened eyes

"You know the smell of his Cologne?"

I put one hand on my forehead and sit on the couch"you have got to be kidding me"

"Spill" was the next thing she said

I looked at her "Spill what?"

"How do you know that?"

I shrugged "I guessed"

"You don't just guess something like that"

"Sophia leave it as it is, I'm really not feeling well" I sit on the couch

Jeffrey walked through the front door

"Oh hey, you're up" he said as he shut the door

"I had to force myself"

"Is he gone?" Sophia asked

"Yeah he left not too long ago but still kind of like a while ago" he sits beside me

"Wait he was outside?" I asked

"Um yeah...what's wrong with that" Jeffrey asked with a questioning look

I slightly shook my head "nothing" I think I'm losing it

Who loses their mind just because someone confessed to you?

I always knew I wasn't normal

Sophia put the back of her hand on my forehead "I'm not sick" I take her hand off

"Are you sure?"

I looked at her and frowned my brows and she stopped

I get up and head to my room

"God" I let out a sigh after closing the door behind me

There was a notification sound that came from my phone, I walked to the nightstand and picked it up

        Good morning Courtney, hope you're not busy. It's a Sunday so dress up, I'd really liked if you'd hang out with Daniel, Eric and I.
