Chapter 27

Eric's POV.

Bringing Courtney to the gym was a bad idea

I couldn't concentrate on anything

She finished walking on the treadmill a while ago and started on some stretches

Who knew the girl could split

She was doing sit ups and I was lifting dumbells

I've almost dropped this dumbell on my leg 5 times now

It's not my fault, she's really beautiful and has nice....everything

"Careful bro, so you don't take your toes off with that dumbell" Daniel walks past me with a smirk on his face

"Shut it" I said to him

He walks back and places his elbow on my shoulder and looks towards Courtney's direction

"She is pretty though" he said

I place the dumbell back in it's place

"So...what's your plan?" He folds his arm

"I really don't know. I'm not...really sure what to do yet" I tell him

"You guys should hang out, and I don't mean dinner, go out, spend time together and Don't blow it" he said before walking away

Courtney stands to her feet and lets out a sigh before walking towards me

"I think I'm done" she said while pantings a little

I lift my hand to her face and pull away a strand of hair stuck to her face

I could feel her stiffen

"Let's go" I turn around and walk away

Courtney's POV.

I couldn't swallow, like I couldn't

I don't know what happened in there, but I was so shakened by his sudden behavior

But why? And what was it for?

He stopped at a drive through to get food

I never knew he ate drive through food

"Here you go" he hands me the bag

"You...want me to help you hold it?" I asked

"No it's yours" he starts driving

"M..Mine?"

"Yeah, we would have gone somewhere else but I really have to head somewhere"

"But..I didn't....Thank you" I just decided to thank him

"No problem"

We drove quitely until I got home

"Thank you" I undid my seat belt and opened the door

"Um Courtney...." i sat, waiting for him to say something but

"Nevermind" he waves it off

"What's it about?" I decided not to drop it, really don't know why though

"It's nothing, don't worry"

Alright I'll drop it

"Alright, if you say so" I stepped out of the car and closed it behind me

I don't know why, but I feeling some thing's definitely going on, I really don't know what it has to do with

But something's up

"Here you go" Sophia hands me a cup of coffee

"Thanks" I take few sips before setting it down

I had no other choice but to come to work today even now I still had Brittany's dress with me

"You're a horrible friend" Sophia mutters for the 6th time today

"If you say so" I said my eyes still focused on the machine

She's upset because I refused to tell her anything about what happened at the gym, when she asked how it was, I only replied with 'it was great, it was a hell of a gym' and when she asked what happened, I just said 'nothing'

So since then she's been saying

"Really horrible friend" she said again

"I said nothing happened, was something suppose to happen?"

She didn't reply, only stared at me with a frown

I just rolled my eyes and go back to work

"I really need some action around here, everything's so still" she muttered

I just scrunch my nose up before returning to the dress

"But....am I the only one finding it weird that the Eric Martinez wants to spend time with you, any given chance he has?"

I didn't saying anything, I just looked at her

He did say he'd go out with me if given the chance and that's exactly what he does

No, No!

I am not thinking too much about nothing

It's nothing "It's nothing Soph" I return to work

"I really hope not"

Eric's POV

"Do you know how long it's been since you spoke to Theresa, do you think it's funny to treat a woman the way you treat her?"

I let out a sigh

"Mum you can't be doing this at the office"

"She's been depressed"

She's not the first

"Depressed that what happened, I don't love her, she knew this already so why's she suddenly depressed?"

If there's anything I hate the most, it's my life right now

"She loves you Eric, I've never chosen a girl for you before, so now that I am, why can't you just trust me on this?"

"Because you're wrong in this case. Wait, is this why you're here?"

She folds her arm

"Eric this is important"

"No it's not, I have a thousand things going through my mind right now. I have to meet Mr Lawson in an hour, I'm supposed to be in Boston in 2 days and I have a very hectic week, Crystal isn't going to run itself and now that dad's out of town, I have to be there" and topping all that thought, is Courtney

Isn't my life just great?

"Do you really think that now is the best time to bother me?"

"Propose to her and I'll leave you alone"

I get up from my chair and grab my hair phone

"Please excuse me"

"Eric!" She yells My name

"Have a great day" and I shut my door behind me

I get down stairs and see Jeffrey by then water dispenser

"Jeff let's go" I called out to him and he rushes over

"Where to?"

"Lawson's"

He nods and we head out
