The atmosphere changed after Chaeyoung finished her sentence.

Taehyung's expression turned dark.

"I, Taehyung am not so senseless," Taehyung retorted then continued eating.

Chaeyoung was taken aback. She felt stifled.

Taehyung could feel his blood boiling.

He was being gracious about the matters of the past and brought her out to shop and have a meal together. Were those not what women liked?

In the end, he was accused of having a motive.

'This ungrateful woman!'

He was exceptionally angry.

This meal was unpleasant.

Chaeyoung lowered her head and ate quietly.

In the past, she would long for a chance to have a meal with Taehyung alone. But now, this was a punishment for her and she hoped it would end soon.

After dinner, Taehyung paid the bills at the counter. Chaeyoung looked at his back and wondered if the Taehyung in front of her and the Taehyung that she knew was not the same person.

Taehyung continued to hold Chaeyoung's hand after settling the bills and was about to leave when they coincidentally bumped into Seulgi who just had dinner with her friends.

"Brother Taehyung, Chaeyoung." Seulgi beamed as she parted with her friends. "Such a coincidence, you're having dinner here too?"

Taehyung remained expressionless while Chaeyoung remained indifferent.

"I've just seen the news. Chaeyoung, you must not misunderstand. There is nothing going on between Brother Taehyung and me. I haven't found a place to stay, hence was putting up at the hotel for a night. This morning was an accident," Seulgi explained.

Chaeyoung looked at Seulgi and gave a faint smile.

'Just saw the news? This morning you went to Taehyung's office and paraded around. Now you tell me this, don't you find it ridiculous?'

"The paparazzi love to cook up a story. You don't need to take it to heart," Chaeyoung said.

"Glad to hear that. I was worried you would misunderstand." Seulgi heaved a sigh of relief and walked toward Chaeyoung and held her wrist, "We need to catch up, are you free today?"

"She is not," Taehyung retorted. Taehyung gestured to Seulgi and tugged at Chaeyoung. "Are you done? If you're done, we still have—"

"I'm free." Chaeyoung piped up suddenly and received a look of disappointment from Taehyung.

Chaeyoung turned a blind eye to Taehyung, and immediately shook off Taehyung's hand. "It's rare for us to meet up, why not we have a walk around?"

"Sure, Brother Taehyung doesn't mind right?" Seulgi asked innocently.

'Does it look like I don't mind?'

Taehyung lowered his gaze to Chaeyoung and she looked at him with her lips curved into a smile.

How times had changed. In the past, he used to abandon her without considering her feelings.

In addition, he left with some other lady.

Now, she was only going out to catch up with her childhood friend.

The evening in summer was indeed hot and humid.

The pedestrians on the streets were rushing. Perhaps going for the evening shift at work or perhaps going home for dinner.

Chaeyoung rarely got the chance to stroll along the walkway.
