Chapter 24: Make Another Move

Start from the beginning

Sakura opened the door, jumping out of the car in curiosity. Now, she saw a better vision of the environment. There were colorful lights, booths, stores, couples, Ferris wheel, banners—it was obviously a fun place.

Averting her attention back to Sasuke, she saw him walking up to her from the car. With slightly knitted eyebrows, Sakura stared at him—his dark charcoal eyes clashing with her green ones.

Her eyes glimmered in the dark night, as both of her brows slowly lost its crease. The pink-headed woman shut her eyes tightly, giving out a long sigh.

"If there is something I should know... please tell me." She practically begged, the uneasy feeling in her stomach still getting the best of her.

The Uchiha then placed his hand gently on Sakura's shoulder, looking at her intently. "It's not important, it's just Itachi. You don't have to worry."

"Then why—" Why do I feel like something's wrong?

"Trust me." Sasuke stated.

Much to Sakura's surprise, the ravenette began to walk away from her. She then realized that Sasuke was heading to a small store full of plastic accessories, such as fake earrings and bracelets. After a few seconds, he came back.

Sasuke opened his clenched fist, revealing a plastic ring with an emerald gemstone attached to it. He softly pulled out his girlfriend's hand, as he began to place the ring on the pinkette's ring finger.

"I'll get you an original gold ring once we get married," Sasuke noted. "But for now, keep this."

Sakura didn't realize that a smile was already etched on her lips. She parted her lips to speak, but no words came out. She sure was happy; but her questions were still unanswered.

The pink-haired lady just held Sasuke's hand tightly with care and longing, as both of them stared at the sky, full of shining stars.

I'm happy with you, Sasuke. But why do I have this feeling that you're already bidding goodbye?

Fishing for his keys inside his pockets, Itachi cleared his throat. He then opened the door of his mansion, and from then on, he saw what he expected to see.

"Father," He started. "Mother. I'm glad to see you both." Itachi walked near to them, smiling politely before taking a seat.

It was silent at first; however Fugaku Uchiha spoke, starting out a conversation. The man looked at his son with his usual cold onyx orbs, that kind of type Itachi never dared to look at.

"How is Sasuke?" He asked.

"He's fine, he's actually running his company very well."

"Is that so?" Fugaku gave a nod in recognition. "Is he dating that girl?"

"Yes."

Fugaku scoffed and shook his head in disappointment. "So it was the right decision to go back here in Japan, after all."
