I know a lot of people complain about being a third wheel, but it wasn't bad when the other two wheels were Leah and Gee. First, they were both good friends, and genuinely nice people, so I was happy just to be with them in general. Second, they were just silly. They didn't get all lovey dovey, it was more a lot of awkward flirting from Gee and Leah happily agreeing to whatever Gee was wanting to try. Not that they had tried anything yet, though I had a feeling this weekend might change that, but Leah was seriously making a list on her phone of the things that Gee wanted to try.

No, they wouldn't let me see it.

After the scrimmage, we'd all done a night out of burgers and fried chicken, and Gee got to hear a game recap, as Leah and I had been too excited to shut up about it. But really, when we had a win like that it was inevitable. Since I wasn't seeing Tegan until Friday, I went with Gee over to Leah's place on Thursday and we had a group homework and study session. Leah was taking several of the same classes as us, just at different times, so we never saw her, but we did have a lot of overlapping assignments.

Leah was like me, never having enough time to study and get homework done, so having Gee around to study with was a huge deal. So far, I was still doing well in the classes, so I was happy with the homework process we'd come up with so far.

By the time Friday rolled around, I was almost vibrating in place as I was filled with nervous energy. I wasn't sure if I'd have a whole weekend with Tegan, but I was planning at least tonight and a good part of Saturday. I had a bag in my CRV packed with toiletries and a few outfits, just in case, and I couldn't wait till our film review was over.

The review itself was quick. The scrimmage hadn't been run to do anything other than get our competitive juices going, so there were no real plays run other than the rudimentary stuff from Monday. Going forward we'd run more intensive ones with real plays installed and people vying for starting positions. I was pretty sure that, freshmen or not, Leah and I were already going to be starters along with Tegan. I didn't know the rest though, but that was an excellent trio. There were few teams out there that could guard all three of us at once!

Once the film review was done, I went to the ladies' room and splashed cold water on my face, trying to remain calm. I was about to leave when Tegan walked in, and her face twisted into a smirk when she saw me.

She moved in close, her mouth on my earlobe. "If you're not in my bed when I get home, you get nothing. So, drive fast!"

I nodded quickly. "I'll see you soon!"

After that I wasn't good at keeping my composure, and I walked quickly to the student parking lot near my dorm, hopped into my handy little SUV and then headed over to Tegan's place. This was going to be a big night! It started to rain as I drove, and I was glad for the GPS, because I could barely see the street signs at this point. Visibility was low, and I made my way slowly to the condo.

When I got there, I got a little travel umbrella out and then walked quickly to the front door. I lifted up the soaking wet rabbit, and the key was gone. I frowned, then checked the toad, and there it was! Maybe I put it away in the wrong place when I raced out of here on Tuesday? Either way, I unlocked the door, replaced the key under the toad, and walked up to the bedroom. I wasn't sure how much time I had, so I put my overnight bag in the corner, and slowly stripped out of my clothes, folding them up and putting them atop the bag.

Weirdly, though I'd been here twice now on the bed, I'd never actually been under the sheets. Usually, we were just rolling around on top of it. But now I carefully folded back the comforter and sheets, trying to make it nice and neat, then crawled into the bed. I wanted it to look perfect for her when she got here! Damn, she had comfortable sheets!
