Xiao loved everything about Aether. His laugh. His sweet smile. His personality. But he was with Venti. And Venti's great too, it just didn't feel right to stay with him. Venti knows about this. He took notice ever since the two met. But he wants to stay with Venti. Venti has made him so happy.
Venti loved Xiao. It hurt to see him go. But the little bird has to leave the nest some day. He would miss the bright red face whenever Xiao got teased. How Xiao was sorta like a lost cat looking for a bed whenever he was sleepy.
"Xiao! Venti! Ready for the picnic?"-Aether
They both nodded, held hands, and walked inside the park. Venti was skipping while Xiao had red ears. Once Aether showed them the spot he chose, they sat down and talked about high school times.
Venti noticed Xiao being more open to Aether than he was with him. He wondered if Aether shared the same feelings. Xiao snapped him out of his thoughts with a kiss on the cheek. Thought to him it probably felt a bit wrong.
"You okay? You're very...distant."-Xiao
"Yeah. Yeah I'm fine. Can I talk to you Xiao? About something."-Venti
"Sure? Bye Aether."-Xiao
Aether waved goodbye as if he wasn't going to see them in a couple of minutes. They walked out near a tree out of Aether's sight.
"You have a crush on Aether."-Venti
"What?! No, no I don't. No I don't. Okay yeah, but I still love spending time with you. But I love him."-Xiao

Xiao kept on ranting about how he still loves Venti, but loves Aether even more. It made Venti panic. He still loves Xiao, but he wants for him to be happy. But he doesn't want to loose Xiao.
"Go be with Aether."-Venti
"What?"-Xiao
"I want you to be happy. And if you're not happy with me, it's fine."-Venti
"But I am!"-Xiao
"Xiao! I want you to be happy! So go have him! I promise, I'll find someone else to love me as well."-Venti
Xiao hugged him out of spite. He was happy but didn't show it or clap his hands. Venti was sorta happy. He didn't want to be a burden, but didn't want Xiao to leave.
