I was gonna write smut but like...I got ideas.
Xiao laid in bed with Aether on his chest. All you could hear was the blond's soft snoring and flipping pages of a book. The blond hummed in his sleep for something as he started to wake up.
"You're awake."-Xiao
"Mmm. More cum please..."-Aether
Xiao looked flustered. They did something last night and he wanted more of it? They fucked until their hearts content.
"No. We need to eat something first."-Xiao
"Mmm, fine." Aether suddenly tensed up. Glass all around them was breaking. The windows were all shattered in minutes. Xiao could only stay still and hold Aether close. He didn't want to do anything rash until he knew the situation.
"Members of the Archon Society! We are here to take Aether from Khaenriah into custody!"-??
"Custody? Aeth, what did you do?"-Xiao
"Nothing! I promise! I'm just as confused as you are."-Aether
Aether got up from his spot and hugged his lover, head over his shoulders and legs around his torso. He was shaking, no trembling in fear. The raven knows for sure now that Aether didn't do anything wrong.
"You escaped Khaenriah illegally. So we are here to take you back where you belong. Back in the depths of the dark underground city with all the rest of those monsters."-??
"No. *sob* I'm not going back. I hate it there. *sob* You don't know what Khaenriah is like."-Aether
"Give me one reason not to shoot you dead."-??
"*sniff* We get sold every day to some random person above us to make money for your nation. Sure, we don't have a archon, but we love our world as much as you do. And *sniff* and the treatment you get when your sold is just terrible most of the time. There's not a nice person in this world that is alive and well."-Aether
"So? We get less money then. It's a You problem that you get sold. And they can deal with one less person. It doesn't matter anyways. It's a shame that they'll loose such a pretty boy."-??
Aether bawled inside of his lover's shoulder. He was scared to go back home. Home wasn't a place to call it home. It was just a matter of survival. Xiao patted his lover's head and frowned. He only visited Khaenriah once, and that was enough. Everyone there looked miserable and hungry. The ruling family couldn't do anything about it since they had no money. They gave it all to the archons above, for letting them rule in peace. Then the Archon War happened, and they got power hungry.
"Immobilize the escapee, don't let him run."-??
Aether's eyes widen, he couldn't die now. He tighten his embrace with Xiao. The blond let his death come to him. He heard the bullet shot out of the gun and closed his eyes. He didn't care anymore.
"Xiao? What are you doing?"-Aether
"I'm not letting you die."-Xiao
"XIAO NO!" They were teleported away. To Zhongli's house. Aether was barely even awake and yet he was yet again a criminal.
"Xiao. What do you need?"-Zhongli
"Did you sent some army to retrieve Aether to go back to Khaenriah?"-Xiao
"What? No! I'm not associated with them anymore. They're nothing but power hungry."-Zhongli
Aether's body limped. He fell asleep again. That's right, he didn't have anything to eat. The raven grabbed food from the kitchen and woke up the blond. He could barely eat.
"What's wrong? Are you sick?"-Xiao
"No...Just tired. Very tired."-Aether
"Look at his back! He's been poisoned!" The raven turned the blond around and took out the dart. It was too late, he already had the poison in his system. The blond was breathing heavily and sweating. His chest was slowly turning purple like he had a infection.
"They always find a way..."-Aether
Aether started coughing like he was choking on something. Blood threaten to spill from his mouth.
"Why...why does it have to be pain?"-Aether
"Hang tight, we'll find a way to cure you. Stay with me Aeth."-Xiao
"I can't feel anything. My whole body feels so...numb."-Aether
Zhongli ran to Bubu Pharmacy for something to cure Aether. He got a blood sample from the blond and had to wait to get it tested. Nothing.
Meanwhile, Xiao was trying to keep Aether warm and alive. The raven could only cry. His sunshine was dying and he couldn't do anything about it.
"You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy. When skies are gray. You'll never know dear. How much I love you. Please don't take...my sunshine away. Please don't take...my sunshine away." Hot tears fell from his eyes. The blond could only weakly smile at his lover's attempt to sing him his favorite song from childhood. It was all he needed to rest peacefully.
"I'll always love you, Xiao. Please...get me a Glaze Lily. You can say goodbye to both of us."-Aether
Xiao's eyes widen. He couldn't possibly mean...no. He was just joking around. In his last moments of breath, he was joking around?
Nonetheless, he went to Liyue Harbor to get the Glaze Lily since he knew they always grew there. He gave it to the dying boy and smiled.
"She'll be here...in spirit." His eyes went dull. Xiao tried to shake him awake. It then set in that he was dead. Zhongli saw everything. He couldn't help but comfort the crying raven in order for him to not start crying himself.
"He...asked for a Glaze Lily. He knew who she was. He said her spirit was here with us. I can't, no, this is too much." Xiao ran out the room. He never showed that much emotion to anyone.
"Guizhong...take care of him for Xiao."-Zhongli
