I walked in the house to see Evie laying on the couch holding Salem.

Silas - hey babe

Evie - hey. You missed lunch

Silas - we had a rush and I couldn't come home.

Evie - well you had a visitor

Silas - I told Coi don't come around me anymore. Was she harassing you?

Evie - it was your mom.

Silas - thought she was in jail.

Evie - No and apparently she wants to meet her grandchild

Silas - over my dead body.  Did you tell her we're engaged?

Evie - that's not her business.

Silas -  did she ask to see Sy'Rai

Evie - only you. Which I pointed out felt  like incest

Silas - I don't know what's wrong with my mama

Evie - she's in love with you

Silas - oh I can't help that.

He kissed my forehead and smiled.

Evie - excuse you.

He kissed me.

Salem looked at me.

Silas - hey Angel

Emmy - hi daddy

I picked her up.

Emmy - Rai is sleep because her throw up.

Silas - you stay with mommy and I'll go check on Sy'Rai.

I put her down and she nodded.

I went in SyRai's room and sat on her bed.

Silas - you okay?

SyRai - I don't feel good Lassy

Silas - did you see mom?

SyRai - yeah. It was her , Zel and this buff man. Mom was being mean to Evie.

Silas - not surprised.

SyRai - she should be mean to your future wife

Silas - exactly.

I felt SyRai's forehead.

Silas - you burning up. Ima run to the store and get you some medicine.

Sy'Rai - Silas

Silas - yeah

Sy'Rai  - we have parents day at school next week. Can you and Evie come please?

Silas - okay.

Silas walked out in our room after he got Sy'Rai and Salem into bed.

Silas - Sy'Rai's fever went down after I gave her the medicine.  She has a bucket of she throws up again and tissue.

Evie - okay

Silas - she wants us to go to parents day at her school next week

Evie - Si it's for parents.

Silas - we are her parents. You're helping me raise her

Evie - baby I know. 

Silas - I talk with her teacher and the other kids pick on her because she doesn't have a traditional family so we're going

Evie - I wasn't saying no. I was just concerned about if we were allowed to go

Silas - yes

Evie - are you coming to bed

Silas - not right now

Evie - can  you turn the light out when you leave.

I went downstairs and saw I had a missed call from Javel.  I called him back

Javel - hey Si.

Silas - what Vel

Javel - if the grocery store is out of what Amira wants , should I go home empty handed

Silas - hell no.   Go to a gas station.

Javel - man it's late

Silas - damn that.  Trust me.  Evie  tried to kick me out multiple times when she was pregnant if I didn't get her right stuff.

I went back home after going to three gas stations. I  walked in the house and  came face to face with Amira.

Javel - hey baby

She grabbed the bag from me

Amira - hi.

Javel -  give me the bag really quick.

Amira - no. This is for the baby

Javel -  damn Silas was right. Y'all won't share nothing

Amira - so you were talking to Silas

Javel - I needed help

Amira - that's okay. Me and Evie talk about y'all all the time

Javel - is it good things?

Amira - no

Javel - eat so we can go to bed

I sat on the couch and she sat on my lap.

Amira - baby.

Javel -  yeah

Amira - Coi showed up here earlier today

Javel - I told her ass , I'm happy with you.

Amira - you better be happy with me.

Javel -  I am.

Amira - my parents called too

Javel - what are they offering this time?

Amira -  live in  nanny services, a house , and money to leave you

Javel - are you gon do it?

Amira - hell no.  Our little house isn't much but it's our home.

She kissed  me.

Javel - I know it's not what you're used to.

Amira - I was also not used to somebody actually loving me so I'll take that over luxury any day.
