I looked at Silas as he sat on my bed.

Silas - Evie you said we needed to talk and you haven't said a word.

Evie - I'm pregnant

He sighed.

Silas - you just found out.

Evie - I've known for 3 weeks.

Silas - and you're just now telling me that your pregnant with my child?

Evie - I didn't know how to tell you. You were mad at me and-

Silas - I don't wanna think about that , okay?

Evie - alright

He pulled me into a hug.

Silas - Evie I still care about you. I just had to keep my distance for a minute.

Evie - I don't know what us sleeping together meant for you , but it meant a lot to me.

Silas - it meant something for me too.

Evie - it meant something but you're back with Amira.

Silas - I'm not back with her

Evie - what do you call it because y'all were looking pretty cozy the other day.

Silas - i don't know, but we ain't together.

He touched my thigh.

Silas - we're keeping the baby.

I nodded.

Silas - you wanna know something, I almost thought about leaving for Houston with my mom. I can't go now

Evie - Silas you don't have to stay here because of me. If you wanna go then go

Silas - I'm not leaving you , especially not now. We can still go to your meetings, I'll be at doctors appointment, anything you need, I'll be there

Evie - okay

I made it home after I picked up SyRai from school. For some reason, my mom didn't go get her and the school called me.

I walked in the house to see Denzel walking out my mom's room , fixing his clothes.

Zel - hey man.

Silas - I know you ain't f-

Sophia - Denzel w-

I opened the door and saw a big bag of drugs sitting in the middle of the floor.

Silas - she was right about you.

Sophia - and?

Silas - you need to leave.

Sophia -  if you give me your dads safe, I'll go.

Silas - I'm not giving you that.  He left that for Sy'Rai

Sophia -  the whole reason y'all even got it was because of me. 

Silas - what you mean?

Sophia - he was gonna divorce me and I panicked. He just put a life insurance policy on himself and y'all.  He was gonna leave me and take y'all away . So I hired a guy to run us off the road.  Of course I got hurt in process , but he was gone.

Silas -  I lost my dad because you wanted to be selfish.  

I went in my room and she followed me.

Silas - take the fucking safe and get out. I believed you over Evie.  I fucked up my relationship with her for you. Did you drug her?

Sophia - yes. Zel p-

Silas - Rai call the police

I walked over and punched him.

Silas - what you do it for?

Zel - Amira

Silas - of course you did.

A few minutes later, the police arrived and I watched as my mom gotten taken away in handcuffs, along with Zel.

I looked down at the safe on the floor.

I hugged Sy'Rai.

Sy'Rai - you okay Lassy?

Silas - I'm okay. I have to go apologize to Evie.

I  FaceTimed her.

Evie - what's wrong?

Silas - I'm sorry I didn't believe you

Evie - it's fine.

Silas - Zel and Amira hired my mom to come back. 

Evie - I'm not surprised. You want me to come over.

Silas - I'm fine.  I just need time to process everything, okay?

She nodded.

Silas - I'll talk to you later. I love you.

She looked into the camera shocked

Silas - I didn't mean t-

Evie - I love you too Silas

She smiled and hung  up.
