12 - the new life

"Life must be completely different after you got married to him" Heeseung said while gazing at the sky. We've sat near the lake for two hours already since I can't go anywhere with another guy to protect Jay's image.

"Life's sucks" Heeseung chuckled over my statement.

"I still remember when we were playing the cradle at the park and you said about your dream wedding" I widened my eyes and got embarrassed when I remember it. "You want to have a fairy tale theme and want to wear a big gown" I pushed Heeseung's shoulder as I want him to stop reminding me.

"Yah, stop remind me of that" Heeseung laughed as he held his stomach.

"And you said you want to marry a man who sincerely loves you until the end" Heeseung smiled to himself before turned to me who change my expression. "I'm sure you both will get along and he will takes care of you, hm?" He ruffled my hair.

I pressed my lips together, "You know, you only can dream but you will never have it"

We both stood up, "My life will change completely. I can't hanging out with you anymore. We can't be like the old us" I said as tears started forming in my eyes. "Why do I have to face this?"

"This is not fair" I burst into tears when Heeseung pulled me into a hug. "It's okay, it's okay"

Heeseung rubbed my back gently before pulling away the hug and cupping my cheeks, "Hey, you're a bride-to-be"

"You can't cry"

"Save your tears and it'll be okay"

"You have to be strong, Eunsoo"

"It's only 3 months. I'm sure nothing will happen" He wiped my tears with his thumb.

As he was comforting me, I suddenly got a call from Jay. "He's calling you"

I was hesitate to answer him so I ignored it, "He might want to discuss about the wedding" I decided to pick up.

"Shin Eunsoo, are you done with him? You can't be too long with him. What if someone sees you?" Jay said.

I closed my eyes before answering, "Why do you call me?"

Jay took times to answer. He might heard my unstable voice, "We have a bit of things to discuss about. I'll share the location"

He said before hanging up without waiting me to answer anything. I turned to Heeseung who smiled at me, "You can go. I want to spend my time alone here"

"Are you sure?" He nodded and smile sweetly. I bidding a goodbye at him before leaving him.

Heeseung covered his mouth as tears escape from his eyes. "I didn't know it could hurt this bad.."

"Why is it so hurt?"

"I'm too late"

"I didn't expect this will happened"

Tears keep escaping as he felt hurt inside his heart. He loved Eunsoo more than himself. He loved her since the day they became close. He always keep it as he didn't want to ruin their friendship. He regretted for being late.

"I can't cry"

"She will be someone's wife later"

"She will be sad if she saw I'm crying"

"I can't cry"

"I have to be happy"

"For her"

I stared myself in the big mirror which was in front of me. Looking at the white diamond big gown my mom chose for me.

"Funny how I didn't feel happy on my wedding day" I laughed at myself. I turned to the door as I heard the doorknob suddenly twisted. It revealed Jihyun and Heeseung.

Jihyun ran to me and was amazed by how I look, "This dress looks so good on you" She jumped in excitement. I chuckled upon her reaction.

Heeseung walked to me and smiled, "You look beautiful" We looked at each other. I was confused to see his swollen eyes. "About my eyes, I didn't sleep last night. I have a lot of works" He chuckled to himself.

Jihyun pouted, "I can't believe you're getting married"

"It's not like we can't hang out anymore" I cupped her cheeks using my left hand as my other hand were holding a flower.

I turned to Heeseung, "Are you okay, Hee?"

He immediately nodded, "Of course. I can't be not okay on your wedding day"

"Hey, you have to be happy. This is your wedding day, okay?" Jihyun nodded as agreement.

"I know you're not happy about this wedding but it will last after 3 months" Jihyun said as she rubbed my shoulder.

"Tell us if he did anything to you"

"I will treat him to death" I widened my eyes at Jihyun's statement.

We all laughed until someone came to the room. "Get ready, Mrs Shin" the girl said and I smiled as response.

I'm walking down the aisle as my arm linked with my dad's. I walked slowly to make sure I didn't step on my dress or else I'll tripped down. I watched Jay on the altar, looking serious and didn't bothered to take a glance at me.

I stood in front of him awkwardly. Jay suddenly leaned closer to my ear and whispered, "I don't beg for your kiss so don't kiss me back. Remember that"

I was surprised to hear that but I chose to not react to it as a lot of people could easily took photo of me. The officiant started spoke up and gaining all the guests attention. "We are gathering here for the wedding of Park Jay and Shin Eunsoo..." I looked at Jay who were smiling at me. He really good at acting, isn't he?

"I announced you as husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride" The officiant said making me nervous as hell. Jay started to leaned closer to me as he closed his eyes. He stopped and whispered, "Remember that" I looked at him blankly before closing my eyes, feeling his lips touched mine.

I was trying so hard to not return his kiss. My mind was at another place that made me kiss him back. All the guests were cheering especially our parents. Heeseung smiled as he held his tears from falling. The love of his life got married even it was forced and arranged but it's hurt him so bad. He wished to turn back time again and make things right.

Wishes could only existed in mind.
