Episode 60 "The Critic in the Cabernet" Part 2

Start from the beginning

He slams the bottle onto the melon just as Cam arrived splashing melon parts onto her. The boy freezes as Fisher puts the bottle down as I then say, "Isn't it funny how something always happens when you guys don't include me in these experiments." Hodgin nods, "Yeah..." Cam then says, "I was going out to dinner." Hodgins then asks, "Would you like a towel?" "Very much." I hand her a towel as Hodgins says, "The Bedford Creek bottles, they wouldn't have broken." Fisher adds, "But it would've smashed his skull." Cam then says, "But you said the design you found on the glass confirmed that it was a Bedford Creek bottle." I nod, "Yeah, but..." I pick up the bottle, "these bottles wouldn't have provided the injuries that we found." "So... after all this, we have no weapon or cause of death?" I then hand her my card, "I keep emergency dresses in my office... chose whatever you like, Angie picked them out." She nods taking it leaving as I look at the bottle, "This is a very strong bottle... we need to clean this up." They nod as I add, "After I get to smash a melon." The looked at me confused seeing all the melons are smashed as I bring out an extra melon from behind a table as I said, "I knew you two would do this to me, so I brought an extra just in case." They look at me for a moment then smile putting their eye protectors back on as I swing the bottle obliterating the melon making parts of it fly all over the place onto us as we then hear a cracking sound. We look at the bottle seeing that it cracked a bit as Hodgins says, "This just reminds me to stay on your happy side..." Fisher then says, "You are a frightening woman, yet I am somehow highly aroused by you." Hodgins and I give him a weird look as I take a step away from him.

I am now walking with Temp and Angie as she says to her, "Did you ever think, what if Booth is the perfect father for your child? Not just his stuff, but him." Temp and I were confused as she continues, "What if you're throwing away the chance to have a family, a real family, because you're scared?" Temp says, "Scared? Why would I be scared? I've been to Rwanda, to Iraq." I then say, "Yeah, but it's a different feeling when you have a kid Temp." Angie nod as she then says, "Listen, you said you wanted to do this alone because feelings are ephemeral. So is life, Brennan. We're here one minute, and then we're gone the next. You should know that better than anybody. If you keep living trying to protect yourself, nothing is ever gonna touch you." "Sweets said that it's not his job to tell somebody what they're feeling or how they should live their life." Temp walks away as Angie says to me, "Lucky thing I'm not a shrink." We go to the rest of the team as Hodgin says, "The bottles were a counterfeits." Temp asks, "Counterfeits?" "Yep. Even though the design was the same, the glass found in the cask had a lower concentration of dolomite and magnesium dioxide than the real Bedford Creek bottles." Fisher adds, "Someone's been counterfeiting Bedford Creek Cabernet." Angie says, "A bottle of Bedford Creek sells for over a hundred bucks." Cam then says, "So if someone fills counterfeit bottles with cheap wine and ships out a couple thousand cases saying it's from Bedford Creek, they could make some serious money."

I nod as Hodgin says, "Yeah, exactly. Now, I also found that the arsenic compound I thought was from the stain contains parathion." I looked surprised as I say, "Really?" He nods as Cam says, "Okay, we don't know what that means." I explain, "It's an organophosphate used as an insecticide. And the only vineyard in the area licensed to use it by the EPA is Dunwood Winery. Which means..." Temp finishes, "Charles Dunwood." I nod, "And now we have to tell Ranger." She nods as we leave. They have brought Dunwood in as Booth and Temp enters the interigation room as I was in the other room watching as Booth says, "We found cases of this in your warehouse. You were counterfeiting Bedford Creek wine." Temp adds, "You charged a hundred dollars for a three-dollar wine." "These stupid wine snobs, they don't even know the difference." "But Holt did. Mm-hmm. He found out, didn't he? He was... going to tell Mortenson." Dunwood then say, "It was none of Holt's business- I told him to stay out of it. I needed the money to fight Mortenson's bogus lawsuits. I wasn't gonna let that bastard take my place. My family's been there for over 80 years." I then watch as Booth was somewhat out of it as he was looking at a certain direction as Temp notices too as she gets his attention. But it doesn't work as he says, "Some people, they just feel remorse, and they want to set the record straight..." Dunwood then asks, "What's going on?" "Nothing, just, um, go on." "I followed him to Mortenson's. He had one of the bottles. It was late and..." But Booth then says looking at nowhere, "Will you shut up? Shut up!" Temp asks again, "Booth, who are you talking to?"
