Chapter Twenty Two~

"Diane I fucking made out with your cousin, and I didn't even remember and you didn't tell me, I can't really remember everything.................".

Diane looked at me in shock, "So wait, you mean to tell me that all these while you didn't even remember all that happened on my birthday?"

I shook my head, "I mean I remember, but after the whole dare, I just left and that was all I could remember until now that you pointed it out, geez I'm sorry for making out on your bed, but did he say anything about the whole, you know?"

She tilted her head to the side, "It's cool, but he didn't say anything serious about you, he just apologized for making out with you on my bed and that you are really cute and all, nothing much".

I knew I had embarrassed myself countless times but this, this had to be the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me, I made out with a guy and I couldn't even remember, but still people have a one night stand or fling with someone and they forget, so I'm not really abnormal for forgetting what happened on Diane's birthday. Right?

"Wow, so he thinks I'm cute huh?" I smirked.

She rolled her eyes dramatically and chuckled, "So Michelle of all the things you could think about or say, it's whether or not he found you cute, really?"

I couldn't hold my laughter anymore, "Oh please Diane, I care about my reputation, but a hot guy thinking I'm cute is way more important"

She looked at me and shook her head and held her forehead with her palm and sighed, "Michelle, I used to think you were serious , but right now you're nothing but a joke" she laughed.

"Anyways that's by the way, I don't think such would happen again, I have changed, I am now a righteous and holy girl" I said and did the sign of the cross and covered my head with the blanket and we both laughed.

She left few minutes later and I went back to clearing the plates and washing them. I went to my room and laid down and checked my messages, and surprisingly the messages today were not much, and I did a victory dance while laying on the bed, I replied as much as I could and then finally I slept off with Caesar barking somewhere outside the room.

Everywhere was dark, I stood up from the floor and dried leaves were rustling due to my movement, I looked around and saw myself in a forest. I whispered.

"Hello?"

My voice echoed back I turned back at the sound of something, I looked and saw an old woman coming out from a lake, wearing all white, her hair black and adorned with red coral beads, on her waist she had different waist beads of different colors, but I couldn't see them clearly because of the darkness that loomed.

She walked up to me and opened her palms and revealed to me a white pearl which was shining so bright.

"Nne, you have to fulfill your destiny, no one else can do it except you, and you alone"

I looked at her in confusion and asked, "Destiny? What destiny? Who are you?"

She smiled at me warmly, "Nne, I am Ezenwanyi *Queen of All Mothers*. I protect every one of my children from danger and one has been tampered with and I need you to fulfill your destiny and avenge the death of one of my children".

I shook my head and laughed to myself, "I don't even know who you are, or who your child is and I can't help you, I want to be on my own and , please where am I?"

She chuckled and covered her mouth, "You sound just like the whites that speak through their nose, my child, you have to do this to avenge the death of my child, it's your destiny and you must fulfill it, and you alone must fulfill it". She placed the white pearl on my hand and muttered something under her breath.

I looked around and everywhere went black and a voice kept echoing.

"You alone" I looked around to see the person but I didn't see anyone, I screamed,

"Leave me the hell alone.........................................."

I opened my eyes and looked around, everywhere was dark and the windows were shut, it was already evening, and it was all a dream. The door opened and my sister walked in with a glass of milk in her hand, while pressing her phone in the other hand.

"Sleeping beauty, you are finally awake" she switched on the light and sat on the other side of the bed.

"Yeah, I'm just so tired, had a very bad cold this morning" I squinted my eyes.

I stood up and walked to the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror, I knew I always had weird dreams but this one was different and it felt so real. I began to wonder what the woman in the dream meant when she said I had to fulfill my destiny by avenging the death of one of her children, every suggestion I made didn't make sense, so I washed my face and relieved myself of the thought after all it was a dream.

I walked back to the room and sat down on my bed to reply my messages. I opened Diane's message, and read it

Diane: Don't forget to take your cough syrup and med ok? 5:55

Me: Yes sir, I'm gonna take it now just woke up*yawning emoji* 7:00

Diane: Chelle, I'm not a sir, don't be ridiculous*annoyed emoji* 7:01

Me: Ok ma'am, goodnight I'm tired 7:02

Diane:Goodnight 7:02

I left the room and went to the kitchen to look for what to eat, I opened the fridge and saw my left over pizza. I brought it out and microwaved it and ate with a glass of warm milk. I finished eating it when my sister's voice echoed from the hallway.

"I love you " and the person on the other side replied, but the voice was faint from here. I had always known my sister's boyfriends, she never really talked about them to me, after all she was an adult and I was still a teenager, but I would hear her complain to my cousin about what he did or what he didn't do.

This current one was the one I was yet to find out who, so I tiptoed and followed her trails back to the room, with a glass of warm water to drink with my medication. I opened the door lightly and sat down in the other side of the bed and listened to the conversation. It was a video call and the person on the other side was no other than our family friend, my mum's best friend's son, Obi. I was really surprised but kept it to myself and waited until she was done with the call before I would start to bombard her with my numerous questions.

I took my drugs and my cough syrup and laid down on the bed facing up until I heard my sister say,

"Goodnight boo". I knew they had been hanging out for sometime now, but I thought it was just as friends since we all grew up as family friends before they moved to their new house a little further down the block. I turned and said to her.

"Leslie, how come you never told me you and Obi were dating, it feels weird you know, because I had always see him as my older brother, and his other brother and sister,I had seen them like that too".

She chuckled and asked," Who told you we were dating? Or have you been eavesdropping on my conversation?"

I shifted a little on the bed so that I was facing her, "I wasn't eavesdropping, in fact the information just passed my ears, I was just on my own and someone was confessing love and I heard it, my dear sister I wasn't eavesdropping, I just got information from the horses mouth without even asking" I chuckled. She hit me with the pillow and laughed.

"Well we've been dating for about four months now, I didn't want mummy and Aunty Iphy to know, so I kept it low key, I know I'm an adult, in fact I am a twenty five years old woman, but still I hate when mum knows about my relationship, she'll start discussing marriage and weddings, you know all those stuffs".

I laughed and nodded in agreement, my mum and her sister's were fond of that, I rested my back in the pillow and whispered to my sister, "When are we going to visit Nigeria?"

She whispered back "Soon Michelle, Soon"
