Chapter Five~

I peeked through the window and saw that the class was empty. I sighed, feeling relieved that he wasn't there.

"Bitch in your face he's not in........"Just as I was saying this Diane walked passed me,

"Hey Alex, how you doing?"

I felt my heart stop beating for a second and turned to see Alex behind me talking to Diane. Finally, they were done and as he was about to walk past me and I called him.

"Hey Alex, wait up, I have something to tell you"

He turned and smiled at me, "Hey neighbor, any problem?" I saw Diane behind him and she gave me a thumbs up and laughed quietly.

"I..I just wanted to tell you that I..I......I like you". He looked at me rather surprised

"Okay well I know we are neighbors but can I have your number so that we could talk?"

I looked at Diane with the look of "I'm so gonna kill you" and I gave him my number.

"So we'll see later?"

I looked up at him and those eyes, those eyes that made me have sleepless nights because I have been thinking of them, those eyes that seemed to want to explore through mine.

"Yeah" I handed over his phone to him and went to meet Diane.

We went back to class and Diane screamed.

"Girls!!!, you won't believe what happened, Michelle told Alex that she likes him straight to his face and gave him her number!!!!!".

I sat down and saw my friends looking at me in awe. I knew they wanted to laugh but were restraining themselves from laughing because they knew I would kill them.

After school that day I got home and as usual went to the study to read. But nothing seemed to be making sense to me. I peeked out my window and saw that the window there was shut. I went to my room and peeked again but this time his room windows were opened but no one was in sight. I sat on my puffy sofa close to the window and texted Vanessa.

Me:Hey bitch, y'all are in big trouble!!!!! 5:40pm

Vanessa:You had a choice *laughing emoji* 5:42pm

Me:The choice, left me with no choice and besides y'all know I hate approaching guys!!!!!!! 5:42pm

Vanessa:Anyways, has he texted you yet???5:43pm

Me:No, I totally forgot I gave him my number*laughing emoji*5:43pm

Vanessa:Well, don't you worry, I'm sure he'll hyu soon, you're to fine to be left waiting.5:44pm

Just as Vanessa's message dropped, I received a message from an unknown number and immediately knew it was him.

Alex: Hey Michelle, it's Alex :)5:45pm

Me: oh hey, how you doing man?5:46pm

Alex: I'm cool you?5:46pm

Me: Just chilling 5:45pm

Alex: Nice, so about what you told me today, were you being serious about it because,it seemed like you were pressurized;(  5:47pm

I didn't know whether or not to tell him it was a dare, because it would sound dumb and I hate sounding dumb so I asked Vanessa.

Me:Vanessa should I tell him it was a dare;( 5:52pm

Me:Vanessa plsss reply 5:53pm

Me: Vanessa I beg you answer me 5:54pm

Vanessa: Chill babe, uhm don't reply him yet chill a bit 5:57pm

Me: Then when will I finally reply and what the fuck would I say 5:57pm

Vanessa: You can't tell him it was a dare you'll sound dumb and he might just easily forget about you, and I'm sure that you wouldn't want to make him see you as dumb 5:59pm

Me: Okayyy.....but what would I say eventually???6:00pm

Vanessa:You're gonna tell him you meant it but not in a serious, serious way, like you like him because he's cute or cook something up.....6:01pm

Me:There's no way in hell I'm telling him that I meant it because I didn't mean it but I don't want to hurt his feelings because of a stupid dare which was your fault 6:03pm

Another message came from Alex and I opened it and I was shocked by the content

Alex: Michelle, I know you might seem shy to talk about it but you weren't shy to meet me to tell me you like me.... 6:04pm

I was dumbfounded, I didn't know what to do, I knew I had a little crush on him, but it was just a crush, nothing serious and I can't tell him it was a dare I'll sound stupid, so I replied

Me: Alex, can we not talk about the fact that I like you, I mean we barely know each other, when I said I liked you I said it because I liked your hair, it's very cute and full and I dunno you're Nigerian like me.....6:10pm

Alex:I get your point, anyways I'll see you around, Ciao;)6:11pm

Me:Yeah, hehe;)6:11pm

I sighed, relieved that the conversation didn't go on because I would have eventually blurted out the whole truth. I opened Vanessa's message and laughed.

Vanessa: Does that mean you actually have feelings for him??:)6:12pm

Me: No Vanessa I don't:(6:12pm

Vanessa:Don't lie to me or else.......6:13pm

Me:Babe seriously I don't have feelings but maybe his eyes are cute and his hair seems fun to touch but still NO:| 6:14pm

Vanessa:But the way you are talking about him looks like you've been thinking about him, we have a lot to discuss tomorrow 6:14pm

Me:I don't know what you're talking about I'm gonna go make dinner see ya tomorrow 6:15pm

Vanessa:You can't hide from me, see ya 6:15pm

I thought to myself, "I've never been in this situation, how did I end up in this situation, I mean I might like him a little, but he may not like me back and besides he's Simona's brother , and I'm like her sister because we are both Nigerian, and having anything to do with her brother might ruin our relationship" I said to myself, "what if she doesn't have any problem with it". I laughed and said to myself, "like anything serious was going to happen between us".

I left my room for the kitchen with the thought of how to go to school tomorrow and face my friends....
